I had the chance to rewatch the first movie again and it just goes to show how far out of left field the Hulk/Widow romance came.

It really leaves you scratching your head when you have a scene where Hawkeye's wife acts like it is so obvious even Stevie Wonder could see Bruce and Widow are a thing. Except..what? It's not obvious at all, she says that without even really seeing them interact. If this was just the beginning of a potential romance I could understand, but they are quite literally planning on running away together before the movie is even over.

Yeah it came out of nowhere and was forced. Critic consensus seemed to agree on that

Now I'm seeing over an hour of footage was cut and holy hell that makes a lot of sense because the entire movie seems cut to shit. Even the montages looked like they had stuff cut out.

Yeah, the director was pissed and I'm excited to see the director's cut.

Apparently there was specifically some big scene with Hulk cut, but they won't say what it is because it might be used in future films. I'm trying to wonder what the hell it could even of involved. Joss Whedon talks like fans will cream their pants once they see the scene.

Marvel was very hands-on and cutty with this flick.
