I used to see it compared all the time, on various forums.

After finally getting to play it myself on 360 backwards compatibility, I'll just say it's different. In a world where virtually everything used DMC as a base (As they now use Souls), there is nothing quite like Ninja Gaidens mechanics.

It really does make you feel like you're a ninja. A Dragon Ball Z Ninja.

DMC and Souls don't have anything in common. Which leads me to believe NG doesn't, either.

Never said they did.

What I said, was every action game is modeling itself after the Souls games. Like Nioh, or Jedi Fallen Order, or Bloodborne.

The same way games like Bayonetta and Marlow Brigg's were totally modelled after Devil May Cry and PS2 God of War.

Ninja Gaiden wasn't really retreaded in any way. If you want Ninja Gaiden like gameplay, your ownly option is Ninja Gaiden.

You know what really grinds my gears?

Incremental updates that amount to the same damned thing with a few dlc bells and whistles.

F1 2013 used to be good, until 2018 came out. But that 2018 is nowhere as good as F1 2019.

You want to be up to date, don't you?

I wonder how many people actually keep up with what are essentially expansion packs for full price.

I'm on the fence about this. I get the point and it's totally valid.

Honestly, I think it would be nice for developers/publishers to release a roster update for the next season for a small fee so you do not need to buy an entirely new game if you want to replicate roster changes for the next season.

However, I think it's one of those situations where the companies are beholden to fans and I assume the sporting leagues. Honestly, you might have to release a new version every year. Fans want to play with the newest rules, the newest systems, newest teams, players and etc....and that takes time to develop and assume cost.

I love sport games but I generally only buy every few years. I picked up F1 2020 (which was awesome because it added create a team function) but the last version I bought was 2017.

But also....most of these sport games are not bought by hardcore gamers...but bought by the casual gamers that might only play FIFA (and put 1000 hours into it).

I think the biggest issue I have is they remove features every so often from previous generations....and I also wish EA followed the same steps as Ubisoft does...have features that part of all sport titles. You can create your own NHL team, with stadium and etc...but you can't in FIFA.

But that might be a license issue with the sporting organizations.

Sony, will you ever take a break? Now they're discontinuing movie/TV purchasing and rentals.

It's even more dumb when you realize they own movies especially Spider-Man still so I'm not sure what they're smoking.

Why though?

Don't people pay them simply to have apps on the servers?

The cost to host these movies/shows and the cost of licenses outweighs the amount of money they make.

It also doesn't help that Amazon Prime also offers rentals now.

I hope Microsoft doesn't do the same. I use their store to rent newer movies all the time...

Ninja Gaiden was cool, though I don't really recall what, if anything, made its gameplay distinctly different from GoW or DMC? It was harder, I suppose.

Personally, my favorite of the PS2-era hack-n-slashers was the Prince of Persia trilogy. It's been a long while since I've played any of the above, though.

Block button was mandatory for one. God of War had block, but you could get by simply dodge rolling.

It was more defensive in general. With DMC or GoW you could get away with spamming the combo chain, in Ninja Gaiden Black that would get you killed against a lot of enemies.

That, plus the speed of combat was on another level. Mobility was ridiculous, compared to the two games. Up the walls, flying moves in the air, avoiding rocket attacks. Was overwhelming until you learned the flow of the game.

Looks like PC Master Race may dye soon.

Judging by the skyrocketing prices of video cards.

Yeah. At the moment, the PS5 and Xbox Series X are probably the best values at the moment. You can't get a PC that is able to do that.

But you probably can't get one anyways..no different than videocard.

No.

Covid hurt production, that's all. GPUs are always expensive as **** when they come out. Once the factories get back to capacity, expect prices to come down.

Phil finally made it official. Unless it's a game already made, under contract prior to be on PS4/PS5 or a legacy type of game like ESO, Bethesda games from here on will be made available only for Xbox/PC players so any PS fan that wants to play the next DOOM, Elder Scroll, Wolfenstein, Evil Within, and Fallout installments can play it PC but have to get it through Xbox Live's website and not the PS Store or other places anymore.

I am surprised, I thought they would release a few of the bigger games.

I assume they will still have games on Steam. They have Halo Infinite on it already.

Huh. Cool.

Because if there's a game that needs more new console life, it's Skyrim. 😆

Think I'll play a session on my 360 tonight.

I know this is just a sports game...but I'm not what these says about the industry.

Microsoft is getting MLB The Show this year....a first party title from Sony. I can understand the reasoning behind allowing it come to Xbox.

But....even crazier....MLB The Show is Xbox Game Pass title Day 1 of release....that's nuts.

I was able to order an Xbox Series X yesterday, got delayed but talked to a customer service rep and he said everything was fine and it should ship in the next few days. Excited to try out gamepass. Really like a lot of stuff MS is doing this generation. From what I've been reading Sony is starting to slip a little bit, sounds like they're starting to micromanage their first party studios more and they're a little less consumer friendly than MS. Kinda like they're slipping back to their early PS3 days. Will still get a PS5 when I can for the first party games, but may make the Series X my primary gaming machine this generation. We'll see.

I don't have the current gen consoles, but do have the PS4/XB1 and the Switch. I also have Gamepass and I love it. Having a blast playing Gears 5, and The Halo MS collection. In agreement about Sony. They are also removing PS communities this month which have many fans reeling including myself.

If this is right then Sony. Dudes. What are you doing turning down Kojima? Correct me if I'm wrong but Death Stranding did pretty well did it not?
