Interesting. I watched a video of some loading times between Xbox Series X and PS5...
It showed next gen titles (multiplat of course) loaded about 2 seconds faster on the PS5 while all previous generation games loaded faster on the Series X..in fact some of the titles they tested were over 10 seconds faster on the Series X.
I assume PS5 first party titles will take full advantage of the super quick SSD speeds but I wonder all that talk about revolutionary aspect of the SSD is not as important or big as people thought.
Or maybe Xbox Series X SSD and software/hardware controllers were never fully discussed in that much detail...and that they knocked the backwards compatibly out of the park.
Supposedly, first part titles load way quicker than 3rd party titles.
But we haven't really seen an Xbox first party title yet..so it could also load much quicker than 3rd party titles.
But compared to previous generation, the loading is significantly better on new consoles...and it has a pretty big impact surprisingly. Like AC: Valhalla loads in about 30ish seconds and that's pretty much it for loading (unless you fast travel)...but a game like Forza Horizon where you are always loading races...its much better when it's very short.
Interesting. So it's a bit meh in terms of cooling. I wonder if they will do a test on the Series X and Series S.
From my casual glance on the PS5..it was probably designed well...but it seems assembly was a bit shoddy. From the piece of paper being hit by that fan (creating crazy high pitched noise) to the Sony logo being off centered on one of the controllers...plus a few issues with save files and sleep mode.
From MS side, I think I have a small thing about disc drives...but not a lot about it...and Quick Resume doesn't really work for me.
Yeah I hear scalpers are a huge problem with this launch because so many of the purchases are online only and the scalpers can just use bots to buy a bunch of the online inventory pretty much immediately when a new batch is put up on the website.
MS said that they expect shortages until around April. PS5 shortages may last longer since it seems to be more popular.
Honestly unless you just happen to log into a website or stumble into a store just as they’re getting a shipment I wouldn’t even bother trying to get a console for 6 months. Probably not worth the hassle.
Agreed. Like I said before, I'm in no hurry as I still have plenty of PS3 games to keep me entertained. I'm sure as Hell not about to pay over a thousand dollars on ebay just to get one much sooner, and of course that's assuming that the Fed Ex driver wouldn't steal it in transit.
I think that once I do decide to get one I'm gonna make damn sure that my signature is required in order for it to be delivered and once I get package I'm going to open it to make damn sure that it is actually a PS5 before signing for package.
I've heard many reports of people having other items being delivered in packages that was supposed to be their new consoles.
Imagine being all excited about getting a new PS5 only to open up package and discover it is a kitchen appliance or something lol.

I never really cared about PS2 all that much.
I mean, by sheer volume alone, it has something everyone.
You like Zelda? Okami has you covered.
Run and Gun's? Contra: Shattered Soldier and Metal Slug Anniversary.
Fighters? Tekken 5, Virtua Fighter 4 Evo.
Plus its the home of Metal Gears, the best pre reboot God of War in 2.
And it's THE console to own for JRPG's especially.
PS5 is the worst selling PlayStation console in Japan's history.
