A wise policy. They're a nest of spoilers that can be pieced together easily enough.
And almost always raise expectations beyond what the film actually is.
The best example I can give is Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer.
In the teaser trailer we see this awesome action sequence where the Torch is chasing the Surfer and the Surfer is phasing through stuff looking awesome, and I was thinking, "Wow this movie will be something else."
As we all know that was the best scene in the film was was a terrible film.
Of course Thor won't be anything like that, but it's just so much more enjoyable without big spoiler scenes.
