Retconned.

I wish I was a Marvel writer, just so I could flood them with "True Adamantium gets scragged" stories. I'd sneak them past editorial somehow...

That, and "not a doombot/Thanos clone", even though I love the characters.. 😄

Absolutes are ridiculous.. Everything should have a "little" black mark on it..

That would demeaning the point of it.

Comic nerds having something to masturbate to is pretty much the point.

There's no reason why Adamantium has to be completely, 100% indestructible to all physical attacks. None.

You mean no reason besides the fact that its very purpose is to be indestructible.

It's not "supposed" to be anything.

Enough writers apparently thought it should not be indestructible. Hence, the pointless retcons.

Adamantium was created for the purpose of being indestructible. The problem with that is when you have something with such a lofty reputation, it becomes easy for a writer to hype a new character without doing any work by having them trump said reputation. Only once that happens, it's only a short time before it happens again, and then it will continue happening until the feat no longer holds any significance... and that is exactly what was starting to happen back when Marvel was looser in their oversight and creators had more control. Without an editorial mandate in place to prevent such things from happening you end up with Worf, a character that is supposed to be the baddest of the bad and all around top dog ass kicker, who gets jobbed out to virtually everyone so that new character can be established as a threat. Champion suffers from a similar problem. Marvel was smart enough to step in, because if they hadn't they'd have eventually been left with the same problem DC has with Promethium, in that we are told it's awesome, and the writers expect us to buy that... only it's been destroyed so frequently that some writers don't even bother to make it bullet proof.

Exactly. The whole point of adamantium is that it can't be destroyed. Writers abusing it to make their character better (you know, instead of just telling a good story) SHOULD be retconned.

If the vorpal blade stopped cutting all snicker snackt like, it would be useless to have it at all in a story.

Jack

The last few pages of this fell apart pretty badly, didn't they?

Yep

For the record I still think Jack wins.

Also this still doesn't make sense.

Jack does still win, yeah.

Why is Jack winning?

Have you ever seen samurai Jack br

Significantly faster and able to kick the shit out of Logan for an incapacitation.

Jack would punt Wolverine over the horizon

Fairio.

Hell of a necro. Starting browsing from the beginning, came across the following:

Primary Adamantium is indestructible outside of matter manipulation or magic.

Wolverine has matched blades with more than a dozen magic "can cut through anything" swords in his career. Even the Onyx Sword that is less than an atom thick and splices between molecules had no effect. That's not even taken into consideration the large variety of other attacks his skeleton has withstood in way of nukes, extremely powerful energy blasts and brute strength of the strongest characters in Marvel.

Jack having any effect on Wolverine's skeleton is laughable.

Found myself stuck on this:

What the ****? A edge that keen would be unusable. Even it jostling around in a scabbard would be splitting atoms, resulting in all shit-tons of energy being released.

What is this. I don't even. dur-rage

Well this thread turned to shit.

Hey guys what about we do this.

For the sake of the debate. Let just say jack sword can cut wolverine adamantium. Let just say he can.

Now the quession is. Will he able beat Logan??
