Phoenix Namor vs Thanos

Started by Stoic2 pages

That was a poor showing of Thanos TBH. However if we are using this Thanos who happened to get out of the Cancerverse without a suitable explanation then this Thanos would lose badly. However the Thanos of 5-8 years ago would win. Barely but he would.

I'll see you that Thanos NYPD pic and raise you this :

The only reason Thanos had a chance to say anything was because the team took pity on him and stopped attacking.

Phoenix Namor was clearly a fair bit more powerful if we use the heroes as a measuring stick.

The heroes were very clearly outmatched by him and it took Wanda's hex powers to finally beat him. Against Thanos however, once the heroes showed up, it was just one prolonged ass kicking.

We'll never know because a gaggle of COSMIC BEINGS showed up and tped Thanos away. Unlike P5 Namor that got owned by Prof X then let go because he felt guilty.

You also seem to be forgetting who was writing that garbage. Here's Hulk getting absolutely HUMILIATED by Spider Woman and Hawkeye :

Guess what this pathetic showing and the Thanos fight have in common?

I still don't get how bringing up Bendis has anything to do with this.

I don't like him as a writer as I don't like Austen, Liefield, etc etc.

Still if it's in continuity I accept it.

Bringing up that you don't like the writer doesn't change what happened.

As it doens't change that Preboot Batman shot Darkseid, Ares being killed by Sentry, Two Face receiving training from Batman and Deathstroke etc etc.

Oh, I'm just having fun here.

Like I've said, I recognize the events of those comics are canon and I accept them as such.

I also recognize that Bendis is Bendis and he really could give a damn about continuity or power levels as it pertains to the story he wants to tell.

I think that Bendis should give running Marvel's continuity a rest tbh.
Let someone else take the reigns for a while.

He is.

Hickman will be in charge of the Avengers franchise from here on out - which is a godsend considering his stellar work on SHIELD and the F4/FF series.

Bendis will be writing New X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Poor Guardians fans...

So Thanos better bend over and bite down, because the reaming he just received is probably only the beginning.

Mutants and cosmics are going to get Bendis'd.

Wonder who the Luke Cage, Spider-Woman, and Hawkeye of those franchises will be?

Namor is too powerful...

The funny thing is that Thanos is both, so this comment made earlier by Rage :

Is 100% correct. Essentially a foreshadowing of what is to come. The Avengers showing was only Thanos' initiation into the art of being Bendis'd..........

Stalemate or slight edge to Thanos.
