Revamped Hulk Respect Thread

X. PROFESSOR HULK STRENGTH

The Professor Hulk. Originally thought to be a merger of the Banner, Savage Hulk and Gray Hulk identities, it was later revealed that this persona was a wholly distinct fourth one.

The Professor Hulk possessed all of Banner's intellect, the Savage Hulk's strength and Mr. Fixit's attitude. Due to brain damage caused by shrapnel, the Professor Hulk persona would warp into the Maestro, a self-styled villain for the rest of the world to unite against. In terms of strength, the Professor Hulk actually started off much stronger than the Savage Hulk. He also could ramp up his strength at a rapid pace. The only limiting factor to his strength was a mental fail-safe he created: should he completely lose control and become overly enraged, he would revert back to puny Banner.

LIFTING

It bears repeating that Professor Hulk was stronger than Savage Hulk, and various authorities were acutely aware of this, "Actually, he's bigger, greener, and stronger than ever." From Incredible Hulk #391:

XIII. PROFESSOR HULK POWERS

TRANSFORMATION

As noted earlier, the Professor Hulk persona was a distinct fourth personality. Doc Sampson was partially responsible for its emergence during a psychological session where he attempted to resolve the increasingly unstable conflicts between his Banner, Savage Hulk and Gray Hulk personalities. However, this merger turned out to be a farce. Angela Lipscombe, an old colleague of Bruce Banner, calls out Doc Sampson when she notices that the Professor Hulk persona was too macho, narcissistic ... and left-handed. Doc Sampson had hoped that this new persona would mesh with Banner's, but it never did. From Incredible Hulk vol.2 #16:

One of the more interesting twists of the Professor Hulk persona was revealed when he went berserk at the scene of Betty Ross crushed by rubble. It turned out that if he went too overboard with rage, he would revert to puny "Savage Banner." In other words, a childlike uncontrollable monster in the body of a 98 lb. weakling. AMPING

While this mental fail-safe might suggest that Professor Hulk's ability to amp off of increased anger was crippled, that proved rarely the case. For the most part, Savage Banner only emerged a handful of times when he went utterly berserk, usually when Betty Ross' life was endangered. Accordingly, Professor Hulk could still amp his strength in times of great stress and anger and he did so at a far greater rate than Gray Hulk. From Incredible Hulk #413:

XIV. MINDLESS HULK STRENGTH

The Mindless Hulk is mostly a catch-all category for the number of times the Banner personality was either deeply sublimated within or physically separated apart from the Hulk itself. The adjective, "Mindless," is actually a bit of a misnomer as the base Hulk identity always possessed some intelligence and a personality of his own.

There have been several extended episodes where Banner was separated from Hulk. The first occurred when Banner committed mental suicide with the help of Dr. Strange to free himself from the cycle of violence that had peaked when Nightmare unleashed him on Earth. The second episode occurred when Doc Sampson used an experimental nutrient bath to separate the two. The third episode came when the eruption of Onslaught's reality-warping powers split Banner from Hulk. The most recent episode occurred when Dr. Doom surgically separated the two. Each occurrence proved detrimental as one (or both) would eventually deteriorate physically or mentally. In any event, the Mindless Hulk would rarely restrain himself and having no human element within him, would demonstrate feats of strength surpassing the previous Hulk incarnations covered so far.

The first time, Banner committed mental suicide to stop Nightmare's exploitation of his monstrous side. This led to Dr. Strange famously banishing this Mindless Hulk to the Crossroads. The third time they were separated was when Jean Grey used her telepathy to shut down the Banner side and in a twist, Onslaught's reality-warping powers effected the banishment of Banner physically in Onslaught: Marvel Universe #1. Despite feeling stronger at first, one of the side-effects of this split was that the dimensional energies of Franklin's pocket dimension were channeled into Mindless Hulk's body. While not so much a wholly different persona, it refers specifically to a Hulk defined and driven by the rage he experienced on Sakaar.

XIX. WORLD WAR HULK DURABILITY

World War Hulk was the strongest Hulk ever. He was also the most durable and could easily be described as practically invulnerable to harm, whether it involved physical force, energy projection, temperature extremes, piercing, chemical or mental attacks.

BLUNT FORCE

World War Hulk tanked tremendous amounts of physical force during his attack on Manhattan without missing a step. Here, he takes a flush shot to the face from She-Hulk in World War Hulk #2:

What are the upper limits of World War Hulk's tolerance? We might never know. TRANSFORMATION

Few characters in comics grow more powerful when attacked. "But the madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets." And he's never been angrier than when his wife, his home and his unborn child were destroyed by the Illuminati's spaceship in Incredible Hulk vol.2 #105. Thus, World War Hulk was born. And he remained at these heights because he learned to harness his rage by mastering techniques taught by Hiroim in World War Hulk Prologue: Worldbreaker #1:

Another reason why World War Hulk was so unbeatable was his advanced healing factor. Despite being subjected to Elixir's death touch, his healing factor would return in only minutes in World War Hulk: X-Men #1:
