Hmmm, looks like I don't know how to take people off ignore.

Wonder Woman is a defensible choice. She's half the weight of Superman. Who, in turn, is like 1/4th the weight of Hulk. Meaning, p4p, Superman would have to be more than twice as strong as Wonder Woman and Hulk would have to be more than eight times as strong as her.

I'm not so sure a Wonder Woman amped with twice her strength would be weaker than Superman, much less 4x weaker than Hulk.

thanks to all for postingf half-way serious answers. Pound for pound is based on body weight. therefore theoretically peter parker who is what 140lbs can lift what 15 tons right and ben grimm is 900 lbs and can lift90 tons? so therfore thing can lift 100 times his own bodyweight where pete can mlift over 100 so therefore he is stronger. that is the breakdown. So hulk who is 1200lbs or more is weaker than superman (250lbs) and thor(550lbs) based on times they can lift more than their weight.

Peter Parker(aka Spiderman)-Height:5 Ft 10 Inches
Weight:165 Pounds
Strength Lvl:10 Tons

Ben Grimm(aka Thing)-Height:6 Ft
Weight:500 Pounds
Strength Lvl:85 Tons(outdated)

How about Bzzt?

There's a GL who's a bacterium, I believe.

You're not thinking of pound for pound right.

In boxing terms you are correct. I thought op was posting relative strength class to feats

I thought he was asking who had the best strength feats relative to their weight. And though it burns my fingers to type this, Rapeset is right.

Why do you think he mentioned weight?

sorry for the misinformation, I was just trying to make a point. I though ben was heavier for somereason and spiderman was stronger. My apologies.

And yes this can be based on strength feats people, but it is due to weight of the character.

Pound for pound is based on body weight.

[Character X] can lift 100 times his or her own bodyweight ...
[Character Y] can lift OVER 100 [times his or her own bodyweight]...
Therefore [Character Y] is stronger.

That is the breakdown.

Thanks for clarifying that. Then my list was fairly accurate, save that non-humanoid beings were not included. ARE you including them?
Would someone like a Mighty Mouse or Atom Ant be in the running?

If so, assuming Digi's suggestion that Mighty Mouse moved the whole universe is accurate, Mighty Mouse would indeed win the crown, else his lightest counterpart, a similarly strong but smaller character named Mighty Mousette (not making this up) would take it.
(Unless, of course, Atom Ant has similar credentials. I don't know of any intrinsically strong supercharacter smaller than him.)

If not, if we're only considering the most strongly humanoid characters, I stand more or less by my original entries. Note that there may be a difference in order of magnitude from one number to another.
The strongest pound for pound "champion" I personally know of represents their "tier", I suppose you could say:

1. Alan Moore's "Silver Age" Suprema (from Supreme #52A, Volume 1)
She lifted the weight of the entire Universe disguised as a snow globe.
Never seen anything remotely quantifiable on a comic book page to top that.

2. Golden Age Wonder Woman/ Silver Age Wonder Woman
Don't think I've ever found an upper limit to what Golden Wonder could lift or move. Specifically designed by her creator to have all the physical strength accorded to what's-his-name on the overall scale, and was smaller and lighter than him, so gets the nod in any pound-for-pound comparison.
Unbelievably, most renditions seem to have Golden Wonder largely separate from the Greek Pantheon as her source of power, dependent rather on her building, then maintaining or increasing her physical strength through ever more challenging and regular exercise, strength of will, and belief in herself.
(The message of many of her earlier comics was more empowering in that sense ...) Quite possible to make the case for Golden Age Hippolyta being stronger than her daughter, though. Hippy physically bested Diana in Sensation Comics #26 in a wrestling match to save her daughter's life.

3. Anyone from Giantia in a yellow sun system
(see previous panel-given explanation of Superman himself earlier in this thread). Only question is whether or not Giantia ever actually had any people come from it in the DCU.

4. Pre-Crisis Bizarrogirl/ pre-Crisis Kara Zor-el (Earth-1 Supergirl)/ pre-Crisis Mary Marvel

It would probably be most accurate to write "1960s Bizarrogirl" and "1960s Kara Zor-el" and "1960s Mary Marvel". This is the era most people accord the greatest strength feats of Kryptonians. This is also the era, however, where super-characters of the same background were accorded roughly EQUAL levels of strength and superpower, regardless of size. Bizarrogirl was smaller than 1960s Superman, but, as shown previously in this thread, was so equal in strength that he could not break her grip. On the pound-for-pound basis you outlined, she'd win any strength comparison.

the Mkrann Crystal guardians. Jahf, tough lil midget class 100 dude. Think he was slapping around colossus like a $2 whore.

Throughout much, if not most, of the Silver Age (i.e. the 1960s) Kryptonians were accorded the same strength levels one to another.
You'll find an exception or two, but they generally did NOT take into account gender or even size differences.

It would have made perfect sense to a reader of that day, knowing the above, that Superman was unable to wrest Baby Buster from Bizarro Supergirl. She was every bit as strong as he was.
The simple fact is, though, in addition to being as strong as Superman, Bizarrogirl weighed less. So she was, by definition, stronger pound-for-pound.

It is actually you who are guilty of comparing apples to oranges, D.S.

You are trying to apply your own modern reasoning to comics that were written in an era where writers did not, for the most part, concern themselves with such things.

As it is, I largely agree that Supergirl, pre-1985, did not have incredibly solid reasons for her being stronger than her cousin, or even as strong as. That still doesn't change the fact that in many, if not most, of actual pre-Crisis comics, Supergirl was accorded strength equal to her cousin. That was true of Silver Age Supergirl in the 50s and 60s; it was often true of her even in the late 1970s, the so-called Bronze Era.

Note the following. Same task. Struggling to widen a dimensional portal. Superman strains to his utmost to perform the manuever.
He even TELLS us so. It takes everything he has.

Were Superman actually stronger than his young female cousin, she should not be able to perform the manuever.
She is smaller and lighter than he is.

Same task. Same effort. Supergirl would have to be stronger than Superman, pound-for-pound, to succeed at this.

Otherwise, she should fail.

DOES she fail...?

A lot of people are very strong for their class and division, even people you wouldn't expect ...

It occurred to me that I essentially created the street tier pound-for-pound strongest list by making this gauntlet for Slade.

See what you guys think of the rankings and feats here:

Slade Gauntlet.
Grip Strength Challenge.

No strikes or tripping allowed.
Contestants must maintain handholds on each other at all times.
Ring is 10 feet in diameter.

Win is accrued by any proof of pure physical strength superiority,
i.e. forcing a ring out, forcing opponents hands behind their back despite their active resistance, breaking the bones of the opponents hand, submission, etcetera.

Contest inspired by the following:

The kind young fairy-lady named Glitter from Kidd Video should make this list, assuming she hasn't been included in here already. At least once she's sneezed ...

6:32 -- 8:00 minute mark of the following clip.

???

Have YouTube clips recently been banned from KMC?

I didn't even ...

No ...

Wait a minute.

I don't believe this.

Guys, you'll think I'm joking, but the asterisked out letters of the Kidd Video link mentioned in the post before this one, the one about Glitter, are, in this order, capital "F", lowercase "a", and uppercase "G".

Not joking. Not slamming. Put those letters in place of the *** in the URL of that YouTube link and it should work for you.

Kindly add Hyperion whatever lists you compile.
