A while back I was going to make a respect thread for him, but never got around to it. Suffice to say: the Nekron feat is just the tip of the iceberg.

Damn....Did they ever explain how he got his power?

I'd think Nekron back in the day was under the magical realm, but Geoff Johns kind of changed that. He's basically Death/Oblivion of the DCU.

Fate is immune to magic, and Nekron's powers had no effect on him. Based on that, I can only assume Nekron is a magical/mystical entity.

Additionally, given that the 5th dimension, The Green, The Grey, The Red, and even Hell are considered magical realms, it seems logical to assume that both Nekron and his realm would also fall under the magical umbrella of Sorcerers' World:

That's sketchy at best IMO. Nekron is never presented as a magical being be it against CA, GL or WW. To assume nekron is magical by Fate's immunity of magic is like putting the horse before the cart. Couldn't it be that Fate survived against Nekron due to being you know Dr. phucking Fate? I don't know much about Jared though as I admitted.
It's not just that Fate survived, it's that Nekron's powers were completely ineffective against him:

Like I said: Fate is immune to magic. Nekron's powers didn't work on him. Rule of deduction says that Nekron's powers must be magic-based in order for Fate to be completely immune to them. I don't think that's a sketchy assumption at all.

Anyway, could the magical/mystical nature of Nekron's powers have changed after Johns' reimagination of him? It's possible. However, that has no bearing on a Fate comic that was released back in '95.

Yep. His power was derived from both order and chaos--- that's why he's immune to all magics. I'm pretty sure the bio I posted in the OP explains all the details.

He was a guy who robbed tombs of precious artefacts. He went to acquire the vestments of Fate afternthe death of Kent Nelson. There was a fight with some demons and the helm of Nabu (an artefact of the lords of order) and the amulet of anubis (artefact of chaos) exploded and bathed him in power. The arm that was holding the amulet got shredded so he wrapped it innthe cloak of Fate that healed it (whenever unwrapped it becomes a Morpheus kaotic thing that attacks) He later met with Nabu who tried to take control of him (as he did with Kent) but because of his magic immunity he resisted and pushed nabu out. Nabu then melted and reformed what was left of the helm and amulet and made a knife and annk shaped throwing stars that cut anything and always hit what he wants them to (even if they have to go around things or act like homing missiles)

I just remembered. When Black Alice copied Dr Occults powers she had a real problem controlling them. Ported to the wrong place etc.

Occult isn't immune to magic just highly resistant. It's effects on him are minimized.

So of she can't control Occults powers I SERIOUSLY doubt she can even take Jared's ergo Jared wins due to the slightly greater hax

Plus he still had his fighting skills (or at least, brawling skills), which were non magical in nature - so she shouldn't be able to copy those

There must be a glitch in the Matrix because......... Jared shanks the emo-gothic biatch.

I forgot Jared Stevens' power

but black alice is ultimate haxx

Does BA take non magical skills as well? Not talking about the skills to use magic, but say if she jacked Kent Nelson's skills, would it include his surgery skills?

Because then, she wins. She'd be as skilled as Jared....but with his weapons, which we've seen can kill him.

Except I seriously doubt she could copy Jared's powers or skill.

She had trouble stealing the powers of Dr Occult. When she did she couldn't understand then very well and couldn't control then. For example when she used them tk teleport she ended up miles from where she wanted.

Occult is only resistant to magic NOT immune like Jared. When he absorbed magic bullets shot at Superman out of his body it still hurt him like crazy he just was able to handle better because his body had a resistance to magic.

If BA found it hard to copy Occult because he is resistant and had no skill with it because then she ain't doing shit with Jared's power or skill because he's completely immune.

This is the instance from JLA black Baltism I'm talking about

Magic still affects Occult. It still hurts him. His body is just resistant and can fight it

Alice struggled to steal his powers, couldn't understand then fully and couldn't control them.
