well we don't know that for sure. I mean if thats the only scene shes in and you don't see her face she could just be chalked up to a random person.

Yeah... pretty much agree on Green Goblin looks like shit

still not sold on the way Rhino looks like and Electro looks okay, The movie looks okay but i'm not exactly pumped for the movie.

And why does there have to be so many f#cking villains in a single movie..?? Jesus H. Christ.. this will probably be worse than Spiderman 3.

Regarding Electro... i would've like it more if he wasn't wearing that leather looking suit.

Multiple villains can work if the logistics are handled right. Spider-Man 3 was a complete mess with Sandman's creation being so random and Venom's background not explained, at all. Plus the movie couldn't decide who the main villain was.

In this one Electro is clearly the big villain of the movie, Rhino clearly a minor one, and with all the Villains having their background relating to Oscorp experiments, which is the main plot of the movie.

So the multiple villains are clearly being handled much better which could turn it from being a Spider-Man 3 mess to something Epic hopefully.

Edit: Plus No Tobey Maguire crying!

Watched the trailer again an my reactions are even more negative.

The CGI... My god, it's awful. Even the pic on the Youtube link looks like a video game screenshot. Not sure whose bright idea it was to cast Garfield in the first film, but from the little in the trailer we see of him he seems even worse now then in the first film. And the score... facepalm Hans Zimmer has become a parody of himself at this point.

All in all, it looks very generic and derivative. The best part of the trailer is that it is colorful.

This movie looks amazingly mediocre

Hans Zimmer is involved in this too? Figures. I do like his work like in the Nolan Batman films, but it doesn't help that his music easily starts to sound kinda the same everywhere after awhile.

The Shocker: Legit

Have any of you ever read that before? If you're a fan of the Shocker (or hell, Spiderman in general), you owe it to yourself to give that a read. I started reading hours ago and haven't been able to give it a break.

Its a fanfic written by Max Landis (the guy who wrote Chronicle). Basically Herman decideds that it's time for a change and tries to be a super hero (go legit). This gets him involved in some affairs with villains that are waaaaaay above his level and gets him in some brutal and sticky situations. He runs into people like Bullseye, Venom, Spidey, Punisher (which is a bad person for someone like the Shocker to run into), (etc...), It has a pretty good story to it too. You guys should give it a look.

I'm late but I just watched the trailer and two things stuck out:

1.Spider-Man looks a little too CGI when in action. Not a good look.
2.The villains in this look pretty bad. These movies are only as good as their villains.

Sinister six and venom movies are official.

That was my biggest complaint about Spider-man 2. It was really quite flawless except for the CGI battles between Spidey and Doc Oc. Almost completely takes me out of the film. It's made all the more frustrating because the rest of the movie is so great.

Yeah...

Not gonna be a happy camper if they butcher Venom for an entire film. So they'd better do it well. He better not look as shitty as these new villains. They'll need the right director.

Spidey cracking jokes in AS2.

I laughed the hardest at Emma Stone though.

The problem with multiple villains is their back ground origin stories always takes up too much of the film & the plot is sacrificed.

Yep, or one villain takes up the majority of the exposition and the others get the shaft, like Two Face in TDK, Talia in TDKR, Scarecrow in BB, the majority of the Xmen villains in every movie, (etc...). It can be a good movie, but it will have to sacrifice backstory for certain villains.

The problem with SM3 was that it tried to devote sufficient backstory time to every single villain. On top of that, it redid Spidermans backstory to give Sandman the pointless relevance to Peters life. All this didn't leave any kind of time for a real plot outside of 'The villains all hate Spiderman and decided to kidnap his girlfriend to lure him into a gangbang'.

That was one of the things I liked about SM2. Ock had an obvious goal in mind and couldn't give two shits about Spidey. Spidey was just an obstacle to something bigger for him. This gave us a doomsday device and an awesome science fiction plot on top of the Hero vs. Villain dynamic. The pure hero vs villain scenarios are good too, but only for the true arch enemies in super hero movies like Joker or Green Goblin.

Anyway, I'm hoping Rhino is a one time joke encounter in the beginning of the movie that gets foiled relatively quickly. I was hoping Electro was just going to be a thug that was only interested in pursing his own financial self interests (like Scarecrow), and leave all the personal vendettas to Goblin. Instead, they've chosen to have him personally gunning for Spidey for some reason. Two villains with the same basic personal motivation seems kind of boring and unnecessary.

At the moment, the only thing I'm looking forward to is Garfields Spidey, Stones Gwen, and Electro (because he still seems like a sadistic and intimidating villain, at least). Maybe it will surprise me though.

This doesn't even look comparable to Spiderman 3 Imho.

Spider-Man 3 couldn't decide who the main villain was. Green Goblin at the start, Sandman in the middle with GG returning as a minor threat, and then Venom at the end.

This movie is clear on who the main threat is- Electro.

Spider-Man 3 didn't even bother doing a back story for Venom. He simply just happened to drop out of the sky and land right next to Peter Parker. So random. Then Uncle Ben's real killer escaped jail and randomly became the Sandman. It was all so stupid.

This movie series has made it clear that the source of all superpowered beings will be Oscorp. And clearly the family behind all of that will be the Osbornes/Goblins. So the backstory doesn't need to be half an hour for each villain.

So I think these movies are going to be really good, and I'm for one excited to see them.

Think it's the usual 3 movie deal.
