Justice League (2018)

She didn't like MOS OR Suicide Squad, iirc.

And those movies weren't particularly good. I like Man of Steel more than most people here seem to, but it still had plenty of flaws. And I personally hated Suicide Squad.

Bottom line. If someone who is a huge DC advocate isn't even giving this film a glowing review, then, in all likelihood, at best we can expect is an okay film. Which is a genuine shame. As I have said before, I want these films to do well. Especially team films like Justice League, because I really want to see films like Justice League Dark down the line. Because the more mystical side of DC is where my greater interest lies.

My inability to see Justice League over the weekend looks like a blessing. Maybe WB will permanently keep Snyder away if this movie is as mediocre as I hear it is.

I guess I'll have to wait until the next DC movie to see if Geoff Johns new role will pay some dividends (since he assumed the role a month after JL filming began).

for comparisons sake bats v supes opened up to $166 million domestic and a total of $422 million worldwide... justice league is expected to make around $120 million domestic and a total of $355 million worldwide , if those numbers hold up, this film is in trouble and some folks here will be on suicide watch..hahahaqhaqhahaa

That's because it opened in every territory at once for the most part. After JL, the DCEU will be a 4 billion dollar franchise and there only on their 1st phase.

So far, it seems like a crowd pleaser. Good wom in China and Brazil.

Depends on who you ask. Most dc advocates have been givihg JL praise. Just going off BO forums and people on other forums. We will know the legs on this thing in the second weekend. People were saying the sky was falling when wonder woman only made 100 million ow, but managed to pull a 4x multiplier. This thing will have better legs than BVS.

Booked mine for Friday. Fingers crossed.

Admittedly, this film needs the cash more than the others, at least if the massive budget inflation due to reshoots is legit. But still not too worried about that. This movie will make money whether it's Oscar-worthy or dogshit. My concern has always been more with quality. Because it's not only income that can influence creative choices, in terms of what movies are actually being pursued. Critical reception can force studios to re-evaluate projects and choices, and a bad overall response to this movie could result in other team films (or individual characters poorly received in JL even) getting pushed back further.

Like I said earlier, we don't know the exact budget, due to tax incentives or promotional dollars. Even if JL underperform, the DCEU will still move on. WB already got their 400 million with wonder woman and WB will, for the first time ever earn over 2 billion in the same year.

Most people who I follow enjoy Justice League, so that's a positive. Even with negative reports, some critics said it would be a crowd pleaser.

Back from seeing it

far from being as bad as BvS.....i'd give it at least an 7.5 or 8/10

the two post credits scenes

Spoiler:
The first one is with Flash & Superman, They have a race to see who's fastest

The second one shows Lex Luthor has escaped from Prison & on one of his ships Deathstroke is seen arriving there to meet Lex

Only profits matter so you can't just throw numbers around and act like all things are considered equal. There's a public concern for the well being of the dceu and even calls to reboot it already despite your glowing praise ehich doesn't reflect public perception.

Golgo it's ok to admit their universe is sub par. I hope it doesn't die I hope it continues to carry on so marvel will continue to pound them into submission in the fictional versus matchups.

Must not look. Sounds good.

The ONLY serious problem #JusticeLeague has is how it treats #WonderWoman & a source confirms to me it's ALL WHEDON - turns out he got his hands on the character after all... #WhedonsWonderWomanScript -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySK1xcvElIo

True?

Well, her tune seems to have changed a bit from her non-spoiler review, because she definitely had more issues than Wonder Woman in that. But anyway, going to probably see it tomorrow, so will judge for myself. Based on everything I have heard from various sources (not just ones who tend to be pro-DC), this is probably going to be better than BvS, but worse than WW, so probably around the same level of MoS.

There is a some "sexist jokes" as in that video that get mentioned

Spoiler:
Flash landing on WW after saving her

but i wasn't exactly triggered by it.

Just had a look at a review from another person whose opinion I tend to trust. Like most, he says the film does have flaws, but there are definitely elements to enjoy in it. One pleasant surprise (to me at least, considering how directionless the character seemed in BvS) is that, despite several comments about the obvious mustache CGI, quite a few reviewers and critics seemed to have enjoyed Superman in this.

Yeah, Supes is much better in his film bit more like how he is in the comics less trying to kill people.

Are there any real surprises in the movie?

Maybe one of the post credits scene for surprises

Also with cyborg how alot of people weren't happy with his design on this forum & internet in general

Spoiler:
That's not his final look, Think of it this way he only just got the powers and is still rough around the edges

near the end he starts too look more like how he does in the comics
