Because it was predicted to do well over 200 M, which it failed. Then certain posters and analysts predicted it would outgross Avengers (Since it's Avengers 2.0) and it failed. Keep on denying this.

And Monster/Huge numbers for one of the worst rated super hero movies IS big numbers, no matter how you slice it.

For a movie to introduce Spider-Man into the MCU (a SHIT ton of hype and youtube vid hits), I thought it would have clobbered the Avengers OW at the very least. Even I was wrong on that front.

Predicted by who? All that matters is that it was a good film that made more than Cap 2.
And like I said you can spin it anyway you want but it was Cap 3. The general audience saw Captain America : Civil War in the title not AVENGERS. And yes that makes a big difference to the general audience.
Cap 3 was a continuation to the events that took place in Cap 1 and 2.

Goes to show just how popular the top DC characters are. Its enough to bring in crowds and money even though the movie is bad. Just like Suicide Squad. Them using Batman, Joker and Harley to get people in seats in all the advertisement.

It's not just Youtube, but Facebook and Twitter. Social Media has been a way to gauge a movies box office now, among other factors like Google trends.

No that wasn't monster numbers at all. The last Solo Batman film grossed over $1Billion, and BvS only made $200mill more than the last solo Superman film. Plus BvS had such terrible legs at the box office, that I don't know why you would bring that up as a positive.

Suicide Squad did very well, but still wasn't received anywhere near as well as it should have for those numbers. For instance I can guarantee you GOTG2 or Deadpool2 will do much better than any SS sequel they put out.

Like I said if JLA is a better film and has even a half decent score on RT, then no reason it shouldn't do better. But if you wanna compare to Marvel, then You Know JL won't make Avenger numbers. Why is that? Because they're putting it out before they've built up enough demand for it.

The last Batman movie was also Nolan's final movie in the trilogy and it just came off of TDK, which is still considered by the majority the best super hero related film out there. Not a good movie to compare. This was Ben's first time to wear the Bat cowl.

Yeah I stand by that no one is demanding JL right now. And what they're putting out a 2nd trailer 10 months in advance? Come on.

It's being put out too early by a director whose previous films in the series have been slammed by fans and critics. So I don't get whose demanding JL this early and by the same director.

Of course it's still JL and if they put it out there will be some interest and hype. But I'm sure if a survey was done saying which DC film would you prefer next, then JL would be low on people's list. Because they're not asking for it yet. It's way too early.

Not true. JL is pretty popular on social media, so that proves you're wrong. It's FB and Youtube hits are comparable to BVS, which had a huge OW number.

The first comic-con trailer was well liked, too.

But I'll save this for when the movie comes out and you'll see the error of your ways. 🙂

Darkseid seems to play a subversive role in quite a few of the films if the rumors are to be believed. It almost seems too convenient its not like DC/Warner are competent enough to actually make it believable that Darkseid could be influencing multiple events across these films.
