I liked Genisys. You didn't. I saw it twice in the theatre. Even James C. enjoyed it. You'll always favor the D.C. Universe.

I...I'm siding with Quanchi. God help me. I liked Genisys too.

Again missing the point. Quan supported a sequel after other bad sequels, which is what he's complaining about me now.

But seriously what's wrong with some of you guys? Genysis sucked. Wrong tone for the franchise, bad acting, bad portrayals of classic characters and one big ass stupid plot twist.

Genysis was average at best. Certainly not horrible, and certainly not good.

so.. once bay joins the dceu, how worse will it get

You really are clueless aren't you? WB doesn't give a shit as long as it makes money. BvS, despite being a massive PoS, made massive amounts of money. I mean, I'm sure they'd still like to have well-received films, yes, but they don't care enough at this point to fire the person who has already sort of established the first few films. But if it ever becomes unprofitable... you'd better believe Snyder would be out on his retarded-storytelling-ass in a split second.

It made money, but so did the first Star Trek film in 1979 despite the disappointing reaction it got. And it wasn't anywhere near a Star Wars level box office event. When Star Trek came back in the next sequel in 1982, it was completed retooled behind the camera.

I think DC & Warners rightly should have expected an Avengers level box office sensation for BvS; the first ever live action meeting of the big two (which turned out to be a meeting of the big trinity) that's what I would have thought. But they didn't get it right behind the scenes, and it fell far short of that tentpole expectation, for both fans and media.

But instead of retooling, they just carried on despite the obvious dents and scars on the luxury model, claiming there's nothing to see here. 🙄

Great point. D. Thor just admitted despite the shit quality he will watch it no matter what. D. Thor loves DC above all other franchises and he can't wait until they get a great film so he can bandwagon it.

I may watch just once, for the sake of curiosity. That's a big difference from seeing Avengers and other Marvel films multiple times, and buying the blu-ray when it comes out.

I might agree with you, but I keep telling people, times have changed. Superman is still the most well known super hero in the world (MAYBE, Spider-Man is probably #1 at this point), but that doesn't translate into big box office. I've met a lot of people that say they don't care for big name characters, but small characters, which is one of the reasons GOTG and SS did so well.

I was okay with most of the acting for the most part. I mean John Connor has never been done that well as an adult like the kid in the 2nd film (sadly), so I had no real expectations for him there. Guess it helped too that I didn't see the trailer, preview, or whatever that supposedly spoiled the twist with him in Genisys before I saw the film. The twist itself I was mixed on, so I'll just say I more or less agree with you there. Sarah Connor, was the same deal for me pretty much. I knew there would be no one that would play her like Linda Hamilton going in, so I wasn't that disappointed with what we got, which I still found preferable to Sarah conveniently dying of leukemia after 2. Only liked the Kyle Reese Genisys had because of his amusing interactions with "pops", so I can prolly give you that too, along with the tone (again, guilty pleasure). Old Arnold was probably what mainly sold it for me. That said, I still find it hard to fathom the idea of the series moving on without him, but I can prolly live with it if whatever future Terminator might have is done well or better.

I dunno. It's the mostly the same reason I liked Jurassic World, while recognizing the 1st film was still the best; the sequels after just happened to make World look better by comparison. Even then, I found plenty of people were ungrateful for JW, but was glad it still did pretty well.

Different strokes I guess. Far be it from me to complain about you supporting a sequel after other bad sequels though; that's where me and (presumably) the others differ from quan. I mean if the DCEU ever gets a film that resonates well with most, I'd be happy. It's not like I want said universe to be shit, much as I may shit on mostly everything it's had so far.

^ Seems like it took a few conditions for you to like/appreciate Genysis lol. Which is fair enough.

But hey after being such a massive fan of the first 2, (like my fav films ever after Star Wars), I'll still give each new Terminator reboot/sequel a chance, but just go in with less and less expectations. Same with the DC Universe. In fact pretty sure most people here will see JL at least once. But without Fan Hype supporting it, these films will never do as well as they should. Hence BvS not hitting a Billion. So WB do want and need the fan hype. Because if fans are just unenthusiasticly watching the films only once, then they will never make the kind of profits Marvel films make, and the kind even Nolan's solo Batman films made.

Quan's just always jumping in to attack me over anything because he'll never get over how badly I've embarrassed him in past debates. And also yeah, he actually Wants Dc films to be crapfests and to fail. And tbh I'm actually a bigger Marvel movie fan than him anyway. Kevin Feige really doesn't mind if Marvel fans also watch Dc films in between the Marvel releases Lol

Yeah that's true, but what you seem to keep ignoring is that Marvel is the one that's changed the landscape due to consistently pouring out quality films with lesser known names.

But that's no excuse for BvS not to hit the Billion mark. It had a very poor multiplier due to poor WOM.

And talking of big names, when it comes to Spider-Man, even its lowest grossing film grossed considerably more than MOS, and now Spider-Man:Homecoming has more social media chat then Justice League does.

So we'll see what happens by year end, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if Homecoming is more successful than JL.

Darth Thor is all alone, he will stop posting after Thor: Ragnarok comes out.

While box office is important, I guess, it's definitely not a good indicator (for me, anyway) of whether I'll think the movie is good or not. Blade Runner, Shawshank Redemption and Fight Club were all considered box office flops, while Avatar and Titanic were huge hits.

All alone? Lmao. Explains the 25% critic rating and why the franchise needs rebooting again!

Thor:Ragnarok will be the best Marvel movie to date you untrue believer!

Speaking of Genisys I quite enjoyed it too, I dunno why...maybe cuz T3 and Salvation were just so terrible

^ The taste on KMC is clearly getting worse.

Seriously though that wasn't my original point at all.

Yeah, "like" is a strong word for Genysis. Some of it was okay, some was painful. So I certainly didn't like it.

And then after it was done I had already pretty much forgotten it.

Emilia Clarke was a terrible Sarah Connor. That was just bad casting, especially needing to fill the shoes of the perfectly cast Linda Hamilton.

shit, Lena Headey was a better Sarah Connor in that tv show than Emilia Clarke was in Genisys.
