Thor:Ragnarok will be an infinitely better movie, and we all know it.
That being said, Hulk will likely make Ragnarok the superior movie... yeah, HULK will make the THOR movie better. not Thor. lol.

Actually the first Thor film was a beloved part of Phase I, the second most popular so Avenger at the time.
It's just TDW and Thor as a character getting a bit screwed in AOU that has put his name down a bit in recent years. But I'm sure Ragnarok will bring him and Loki back to the limelight.
Lol Poor Hulk can't get his own film so had to ask Thor for a hand.

Well BvS couldn't, and yet the DCEU are carrying on with the same director as if he's proven something.

Good point, the fact that BvS didn't get to a $billion is a pretty big testament to how shitty it is.
I think JL could still do it, though, just on sheer characters and appeal alone, despite terrible word-of-mouth and reviews. There's far too many people with horrible taste in movies who will go see it, "Oh, costumed characters jumping around and shit blowing up, I'ma go see that."

"and we all know it."
No, we "all" don't. The Thor movies have a very poor track record with me. The first was decent at best and the Dark World approached Batman and Robin territory. The series is trending down significantly. Ragnarok will need a very good trailer for me to think it will be anything but crap.
Lol @ Thor:TDW being "Batman & Robin" level. It had its problems, didn't have an engaging storyline or any kind of spectacular action, but it still showcased a great relationship (and top acting) between Thor and Loki.
That alone takes it out of the "total trash" department.
Thor1 on the other hand is to this day still one of the better "Origin" stories for a superhero film. In fact Pre-Winter Soldier, Thor was the next most popular Avenger after IM, and Loki is still one of the best villains in superhero movie history. Certainly far superior to any DCEU villain to date.
I didn't say it was on B&R's level, I said it was approaching it.
In addition to a weak plot and a lack of spectacle it had blasé cinematography, an unremarkable soundtrack, a crappy love story, and one of the worst villians I have ever seen in a comic book movie.
The only worthwhile feature of that movie was the chemistry between Hemsworth and Hiddleston.
Thor's "origin" story was hampered by the fact that he was "Robert Blake" for most of it instead of Thor and another crappy love story. The main plot also read like a Saturday morning cartoon where the characters "learn their lesson". Needless to say, I didn't find it engaging. Loki's subplot in that film about trying to show Odin he is worthy of kingship was far more interesting, but got 1/3 the attention.
I don't really care what others find popular. For my money, The First Avenger was the best Phase 1 film.
Loki is great, but even then I would have to hedge that statement by saying he is only good in the "Thor" movies. Were it not for Hiddleston's charisma playing the character, he would have been generic crap in Avengers. Regardless, I wouldn't say he was "far superior" to Zod in any way.
Anyway, this is the Justice League thread and we're off topic. If you want to continue this discussion you can start a Thor franchise thread or just necro the Dark World thread.

True. I usually take a glance at the weekend projections/actuals from Box Office Mojo on Sunday/Monday for a few minutes while starting my work day. I thought it was a given BvS would hit a billion if Iron Man 3 obliterated that mark.
When I saw the bad reviews combined with the fact that WB released the movie the same day internationally across all markets, I became less confident.
When I saw the second weekend drop, I figured it was a done deal not happening.
When I continued to see the week-by-week multipliers...wow. I couldn't believe it.
Really would've bet a month's pay a billion was in the works.
