See, you're doing it again. However, Gore (pirates director) made a good point. The box office is in different times. Movies like GOTG, pirates of the Caribbean, and maybe WW should have done a billion or close this year, but because of the exchange rates, they didn't. Who knows how much JL would have made back then.
Btw, you're acting like Homecoming being the bigger movie world wide is impressive and that you have to count world wide. Yet, it isn't for the same reason you,shouldn't count DCEU first 4 movies because of the known, iconic characters. But just like you say, you have to count everything (world wide) and the first 4-5 movies crush MCU's.

Homecoming beat WW and GOTG because he's one of the big 3 (Batman, Superman and Spider-Man) most iconic superheroes of all time, which Marvel finally got a crack at handling themselves.
BvS was about 2 of those 3 icons meeting for the first time. It was a massive event film, and you actually think comparing that to Thor1 is some kind of fair comparison?
You know the DCEU isn't a match for Phase I of the MCU, because if you really believed it's "crushed" MCU's first 4 movies in a fair contest, then you'd have full faith that Justice League will crush Avengers 1. But you seem to be realistic enough to know that's pretty unlikely.
Honestly if it wasn't for WW, I doubt JL would have even crossed a billion. But after WW's much needed success, I do think it will clear the Billion mark without a problem. My guess is around Iron Man 3 type numbers.

No match? DCEU clobbered MCU's first phase. That's a fact. And after JL comes out, DCEU will be far ahead of the game, box office wise. Nobody cares about why or how, they just look at the dollar sign.

BvS should have crushed 1 billion WW. You don't get a 1.99 multiplier by being a great success.
BvS actually had a bigger opening day than CW but it basically tanked after that falling 38 percent on Saturday. WOM and bad reviews hurt it big time.
The potential is there, WB/DC just needs to make a good movie.

You can't just look at the multiplier, though. Civil War had a low multiplier, but nobody would have said that was a failure. BVS made nearly 900 million. That's not a massive failure.
