The New TEEN TITANS! (IC)

Olli rose from behind the vent and stared blankly at the three teens out of sheer amazement. He had always known that there were meta-humans other than himself in the world, but never in his own city. He had heard people talking about some heroes of the past and some pretty big battles going down in Jump City way back when, but had resigned himself to the fact that he lived in a pretty normal city now. Until now.

He shyly approached the three teens who were talking amongst themselves. What exactly should he say? Should he try to shake their hands? How should he act? His knees were still shaking from the ice almost castrating him but he would put on a brave face. Act like this was just a normal day and stuff like this happened all the time.

He took a few more steps towards the trio and squeaked out a "Hi."

Athena floated away from Vex giving him some room, she doubted that Katarina would come back with all of them on the roof, she's reckless not stupid but just in case she would do a quick mental sweep on the area. Athena landed on her feet and put her two fingers on in the center of her forehead soon after a psychic wavelength pulsed from her covering a cities block, "Not thing, she wouldn't attack if I'm here, that's why she lead me in side before coming out here. Her plan was most likely to measure the teams fighting ability with out me getting in the way, knowing I'd be able to stop her from phasing and teleporting...I can't believe she's still able to trick me," Athena explains disappointed that she fell for Kat's plan.

Matthew finally came out of his shocked state and landed next to Athena, his head was lowered feeling useless cause he just stood there and watch not to mention Vex was almost killed. Tech turns his attention to the new face, from his Star Lab name tag he figured he must work here. "hey...sorry we'll be out of your way soon," he said not mentioning that they didn't get whatever was stolen back.

Snow was suddenly behind and to the left of Matthew, looking over his shoulder. She looked at him with her usual blank expression, the stick to her sucker bobbing with her lips as she spoke in her lack luster tone.

"You look upset."

She stared at him with her bright blue eyes before looking over to the guy who walked over. As soon as she saw him the ice spikes that were still around shattered and crumpled to dust.

"Sorry." Was all she said to the newcomer.

Her eyes shifted back to Matthew and then to Athena.

He didn't know there was another kid present. He shook his hear at him and cleared his throat before speaking to all of them in a smote steady voice. "Its not me you all have to worry about." The alarms were still ringing in the building and he jabbed his thumb back towards the door. "Security is sure to be here any moment. I can cover you guys, but you gotta get out of here," he said as he looked directly at the girl who could fly. Everything happened so fast and he seen so much in just 15 short minutes and all Olli knew was Kat's name. He figured he'd never see these people again so he quickly pushed all kinds of questions about them out of his head and instead began to come up with a story of why he was up here and what all the commotion was.

Tech almost jumped out of his skin when Snow suddenly appeared in back of him, he didn't know how she was so sneaky, did she have stealth powers or something? Matt looked at the boy and nodded in agreement and turned bumping into Snow when he tried to turn around, "ow ow ow...sorry!" he said blushing out of embarrassment, the boy made sure she was okay then rocketed away before he made a bigger fool of himself.

Athena ignored Matthews blonder and walked up to her team and the boy from Stab Labs, "that wont be necessary, I'll explain what happened to the authorities." As Athena speaks the sun is peaking out from the horizon, "The rest of you guys go back to the tower and explain what happened to the others I'll be back soon." Athena says then addresses the boy, "Would you mind escorting me to the entrance?" Athena could find her own way through the building but this would give her a chance to talk with Oliver.

Kat appeared in a shady part of town far away from the crime scene she lets out a growl and punches a wall, "shit...I got shredded out there, they have too many to fight head on," she says wiping away some of the blood from her shallow wounds. Kat composes herself then phases through one of the walls and is inside an abandon warehouse, it was time to deliver the item she was paid to steal and she was getting paid a ridicules amount of money.

Olli was surprised by the flying girl's request. He watched as one of the boys clumsily flew off and looked squarely at the girl who he assumed was the leader of the group of teens. He nodded in agreement and was quietly impressed that she would face Star Lab security. As they were walking back down the stairs Olli used to observe the rather quick battle, he blurted out to her, "This is a pretty noble thing you're doing in heading to the security. They don't take to kindly to strangers busting up this lab. There's a lot if hi-tech do-dads and crap that's really unstable and its pretty well guarded. But of course that Kat girl would he able to break in seeing as she can teleport. They're gonna be looking to place the blame on someone. What are you gonna say or do?"

Without saying anything, Vex turned and leaped away. He was reasonably calm now, but even so... The fact that this Ghost could actually reach inside him and hurt him was a minor shock. What was even more disappointing was that she had gotten away, presumably with the item she had stolen.
'Leave it to Athena,' he told himself as he building-hopped his way back to the tower. 'She'll be able to figure something out.' Vex landed at the base of the tower. Without any indication the doors simply opened for him. Some kind of technical sensor whatchamacallit, Vex didn't really care. He walked back to the main room and collapsed on a couch. The others would be here before long.

Kaine had woken up a couple of minutes earlier to the cold embrace of his rooms floor, now he sat with a cigaret in his mouth but no lighter. He scratched his head with a sigh and looked around his room and wall from wall saw nothing of possible use until his eyes fixated on his power armor. The purple and grey armor glistened with the new coat of polish he took to it before he went to sleep but soon an idea came to light. "ah"
He jumped up to his feet giving himself a nice stretch before marching himself over to the armor. He began rustling with the arm before the armors forearm detached and was firmly placed over his own.
It sparked to life with the faint sounds of servos running and with it the armor, it's lights shining bright before growing dim. "...okay"
Note to self, activate one piece of the armor and the whole thing boots up._
He reached his arm out and aimed the cannon across his wrist to the end of his cigaret. "1...2...3" with a flash and a slight hum a blade of energy formed in front of his face slicing his cigaret clean in half lighting it in the process.
A smile came over his face '..eh it kinda worked didn't it?' He looked at the half a cigaret on the ground. 'Eh Iv been meaning to cut back anyway'
He jumped over a pile of assorted Tools and took to the hallway.. There was usually more activity than this 'Where was everyone anyway?'

He walked threw a couple of hallways in search of the others until he reached the main room. He heard breathing and he quickly spun to see someone on the couch_'ah a breathing person.. I think' he took a breath being a little uncomfortable addressing others, he only had recently arrived at the tower and really hadnt spoken much to anyone aside from Athena.
He gave a smile "uh.. Hey where is every one?" he scratched his head, this time with the gauntlet making him wince slightly.

Athena walked beside Oliver resisting the urge to go through his mind since the boys thoughts almost seemed to jump out at her and say read me but she instead answered her question. "I will tell them what happened besides they can see for themselves if they simply look at the footage the security cameras recorded and if they choose to not accept the truth I guess I'll have to make them..." Athena said a bluntly. "Anyways the titans are recognized by the city as a sort of an authority, that is why we are not arrested for being vigilantes." Athena glances at the boy and clears her voice before continuing, "That was brave of you on the roof, coming to try to help even though it was dangerous, you could have got killed; Ghost could have reached in side of you and took your liver or Vex could have punched you on accident and pulverized your bones or even Snow with her icicles could have impaled your body..." Athena's voice was a bit more relaxed listing off the things that could have gone wrong but she paid close attention to the boys reaction.

Matt landed in the common room of the giant T where the titans usually relaxed on the cough and watched TV on their down time, he noticed that Vex was the first one back and wondered if he had noticed him being useless when he saw Ghost. Matt tried to tip toe to his room not wanting to face Vex when he was was hit by smoke from Kaine's cigarette and began to cough,"Oh come on dude light up out side, other people live here that don't want to die slow and painful deaths," the tech says waving away the smoke.

The old storage facility is derelict, rusted and corroded metal groaning under the strain of it own weight. A barrel sits in a corner, its edges blackened from fire that probably warmed a hobo's nose. The air is thick with dust, the motes dancing happily in the fades streaks of light from the dirt caked windows that send sharp shadows along the floors and walls. "There you are, Ghost." echoes a voice throughout the cavernous building. A figure moves in the shadows to alert her, but doesn't stray from them. "For a moment I thought you might have been unable to complete your task. You do have what I asked for, don't you?"

The girl said that they the Titans were seen as an authority figure in the city and there would be no trouble in explaining the situation to Star Labs' security so he stopped and leaned up against the wall and folded his arms.

"Back on subject, though, I couldn't do a thing to help you guys up there against Kat." Olli exhaled. This girl was the first person he was going to tell he had a power. It was his only secret and he'd done a good job of keeping it, until today. "I have this...thing...that I can do. I can freeze stuff. Not in the traditional since with ice. I don't know the technical terms or anything but I can stop stuff or people from moving. Freezing them in place. It only seems to happen when I get surprised or spooked. And earlier, right before you flew in here, I froze the entire hall Kat was in as she was taking out some guards. Except she didn't freeze. That never happened before. She was immune to my power and I'm sure that I'd be done for if you hadn't shown up."

Olli was looking down in shame. He never felt helpless before. He miscalculated his own abilities entirely and could only assume because he didn't really know anything about them. Its not like he ever tried to use them. They were always a knee-jerk reaction to his panic. And he made no attempt to figure them out or practice. And because of that, he could have gotten seriously hurt, or worse.

Snow let out a soft 'Umph' as Matthew bumped into her with that Nano armor of his. She fell on her butt and blinked a few times before looking up to hear his apology and then rocket off.

Snow sat there watching them all depart until she was alone on the roof top. She got to her feet and slowly reached down cupping some of the Dust from her shattered Ice Spikes in her hands before throwing the dust high over her head to give the air a beautiful shimmer and rainbow effect. She gave a soft smile before the dust around her began to swirl and compact to a flat dense block of ice. She stepped up onto it and allowed it to carry her back to the tower.

Landing in the Common room she set her foot on the floor and the ice block fell to dust and collected against her body before seeming to just disapear. She walked through the room not even glancing to Vex and Kaine. She made her way down the hallway and towards her room. The door to her room seemes to have been forcibly removed and set against the wall in the hall. In its place was a thick dense sheet of ice and as she approached it the Ice wall fell into dust to allow her entry. She made a straight line to her table which had nothing on it but a large black case. She walked right up to it, stared at it for a bit and then slowly opened it. Inside was an assortment of Suckers arranged in flavor groups from Favorite to least favorite, which was still a favorite to her. She picked up a watermellon one and placed it into her mouth before she closed the case and walked out of her room again. The Ice wall reforming to block entry into her room. After that the Security cameras seem to lose track of her.

There was a knock upon Matthews door and when it would open, Snow would be standing there looking at him.

"I wasn't any type of help. I actually wanted to see the fight. I didn't think there were still heroes in the city." "I have to admit that I've been so wrapped up in my relatively boring life that I didn't realize you guys were active again."

Athena listened as the boy confessed his deepest secret to her, "Well it's not uncommon for kids to hide their abilities if it makes them feel different, especially if they're parents don't have powers, that could be the reason why you suppress your abilities rather then... embracing them," Athena cleared her throat a bit embarrassed that she went on a rant. "Anyways thanks for sharing with me, I'm telekinetic and telepathic, in other words I can read thoughts and move things with my mind." Athena said and thought for a second, "If you want help with your powers stop by Titan's tower and we'll help you find control...in any case I can take it from here if you want to leave and avoid getting caught up in this." she said as they got closer to their destination.

He was about to fall asleep when he heard someone knocking at his door, he lets out a low growl before getting up and answering the door, Matt was again surprised by Snow. "H-hey what's up Snow?" he asked hesitantly.

She didn't want to give to much information to him, in truth he creeped her out, "If you have anything else you know how to reach me," she says stepping away from the table.

he spoke to The guy he knew was called Vex but got no reply, maybe he didn't speak loud enough? Oh well. He took a deep drag of his cancer stick and exhaled. Shifting his weight as the others arrived seemingly all at once. He waved a greeting with his metal gauntlet before hearing Matts words. He forced a smile and nodded his head "apologizes" he took the cigarette out his mouth and put it out on the armored finger tip placing the remains in his breast pocket. "waste not want not... Or however the saying goes"He yawned loudly walking by Matt and threw himself onto a couch across from Vex feeling a little bit lost and totally out of his depth.

Watching both Matt and the seemingly stoic Snow walk off it dawns on him he really doesnt have any comrades in this new troop.. Or would that be friends in this new team? "bah whatever.." maybe I should make a friend? Vex seems pent up.. Snow was..well would saying 'cold' seem like a joke? Anyway where was that other girl.. Asima I think it was.
Wait..more importantly where the heck did everyone go?!He spoke slightly louder to get the attention of Vex or anyone passing by "so where did you guys come from? Was their a party?" He fiddled with his gauntlet, the whole armor turned on when he put it on..a idea entered his head. Perhaps I should talk too the techo guy...eventually.

"Yes," the shadowy figure says with a low chuckle, "I see I made a good investment with you." A large bag flies out from the shadows, landing at Katarina's feet. "We'll be in touch." The lights in the warehouse flicker and go out, dropping the alias "Ghost" in darkness save for dim beams from the windows. They come back on after a moment, but the figure is gone, as is the device she had laid on the table.

Vex was brought out of his brief reverie by a loud voice. He turned a baleful eye at Kaine. "Sorry, wasn't paying attention. We had a bit of a tussle with a thief, but they got away." The young man sat up and rubbed the spot on his back where Ghost had 'hit' him. There was no pain now, but the memory of it was still fresh.
"When everyone gets back we'll have to decide how to deal with it. Until then... " Vex threw his hands up into the air and lay back down.

Wondering whether or not his parents had any secret powers was the thought going across Olli's mind after the girl brought it up. He often times wondered about that because it would explain where he got his from. But that thought floated right out of his mind as quickly as it came when the girl announced her powers. Telekinesis and telepathy. Two pretty common powers but seeing the girl fly around and remembering her call him by his name and knowing that he had a power proved to Olli that she had a level of control over them and he only dreamed about in passing.

"Thanks for the invite," he smiled at her. "I have every intention of taking you up on that offer. But I don't have to go anywhere in specific and leave you by yourself. My dad's sort of a big-wig here. Head of Computer Technology. I can just say I was about to go see him when everything happened."

They were finally approached by a few security guards and two scientists. Olli recognized one of the scientists as Mrs. Meaux, the director of Star Labs. She wore a scowl on her face that told just how pissed she was but she was also shocked to see to the two young people.

"What is this," the woman asked in an accent Olli couldn't quite place. "What are you two doing here? I recognize the boy as one of the receptionists from the welcome center. His father is also Head of the Computer Tech department," she said to one of the guards, "but I don't know this girl." She was eyeing the girl suspiciously as if waiting for her to explain herself.

His skin had goosebumps as he stepped up to the entrance of Titans' Tower, staring the entryway with arms folded across his chest, partially covering the bright red stylized X on his chest. "So they haven't even gotten security up and running," he mutters to himself with a chuckle and a shake of his skull mask covered head, "Wonder what's taking so long. Makes my entrance easier, at least." With that, the young man enters the tower, striding into the elevator confidently and hitting a button. After a short wait, he steps out and moves down the hall and through the sliding door into the common area. As he passes the couch, he raises his right arm slightly with a brief greeting, "Yo." He keeps moving and slips into the seat of the supercomputer, cape resting over the back of the chair.

"ah" he took notice to Vex rubbing himself, seems he might of caught the brunt of something bad. "so one thief got the better of all of you? He must of been something else.. Can't believe I slept threw something like that" Kaine stretched his arms out until a series of cracks sounded followed by a soft sigh.
Given their power sets a single thief shouldn't have been a challenge. Perhaps things were about to get interesting? Hostile even. Fun times ahead. He held in a smile with the glee he felt thinking about it, it has been some time since he did some damage and was beginning to feel restless. Weren't heroes lives supposed to be full of constant danger and challenges?

Suddenly his attention darts to the doorway as it opens, a unfamiliar form enters the room. The skull motif much like on his own armor yelled 'enemy' at him in big bright letters but the titans were actively recruiting.. And honestly he didn't pay much attention.
With a greeting and a passing 'yo' kaine just assumed he belonged.. Honestly he didn't understand any of the people here and his instincts have failed him numerous times since entering the 'normal' world.
"hey" he spoke to redX, kaine shifted laying down on the couch putting his feet up facing Red X's direction.. He was dangerous in a similar way as himself. He enjoyed it for what it was. Perhaps coming here was a good thing after all.
"I think I missed something but if your new here greetings, I'm Kaine who might you be stranger?"

It was the most she had said in one sitting her entire time here. Before Matthew could answer her she turned and walked back down the hall towards the Common room, stopping at the end where she looked to a person sitting at the computer.

"I guess we already have." She looked to the person a bit longer and her brow scrunched up. Looking at the person made something in the back of her mind twitch. She glanced back down towards Matthew before she moved to the man at the computer. She had been here for a good while and she never met this person before.

With her footsteps silent as always and her own heat signature masked by her powers it was hard to ever actually find her or scan for her. She made her way up behind the person on the computer and in silence watched what he was doing... be a creepy girl as always.
