Apparently some spoilers available that reveal the fate of Shaw.. don't tell me, though. I'm not looking...

Will be the first movie I've gone to theaters for since The Accountant. I've done well avoiding anymore trailers, so looking forward to the goodness.

Oh, shit. I'm pretty sure I got that one and read it, but I don't remember that panel. I intend to read them all again before I see Covenant.

Ridley already has plans to begin filming the sequel in 14 months... 😱

Drunk Bald Guys Monthly.

Just got back from watching this

Spoiler:
The intro starts with a young Peter Weyland and David. It then shifts to the ship Covenant on a mission to go to Origae-6 when it encountered a neutrino event while deploying its recharging sails. A lot of people died. Including Daniel's husband. They jettisoned the dead into space. That scene to me screams paying homage to the first Alien Movie were Kane's corpse was jettisoned into space. They tried repairing the damaged sails. One of the guys in space picked up a transmission in his helmet. This transmission led the crew of the Covenant to investigate the planet with atmosphere similar to Earth. Again paying homage to the first Alien Movie where the Nostromo detects a signal prompting the ships AI to wake up the crew to investigate. Daniel's of course protest to this but was over ruled by the Captain. Once there, they deploy a Lander to the surface of the planet to investigate. They went to the origin of the signal. One guy steps into this foliage inadvertently. What's really disturbing was the spores seems to be sentient. A spore enters this guys ears since he was smoking and blowing away the spores in front of him. The team stumbles upon the crashed Juggernaut. Inside, another crew member got infected by the spores. This time entering his nostrils. The crew finds Elizabeth Shaw's tag. They also inadvertently activated this hologram of Shaw. The crew members who were infected by spores started to get sick. The back bursting scene is of course a homage to the chest bursting scene in Alien. But between the 2 scenes, the back bursting scene is more disturbing. Add the fact the Neomorph maybe small but deadly. It killed the woman holding a knife. The Neomorph is animalistic and highly aggressive. And the other woman who got out decided to get a shot gun in order to kill the Neomorph. But this was a mistake as an accidental shot blows up the lander stranding them on the planet. Even worse, a Neomorph comes out of the throat of another infected. They tried to shoot the Neomorph but was too fast for them. The Neomorph grew so fast. It was able to bite off Walter's left hand. The crew was saved by David who used a flare gun that scares the Neomorph. David then leads the group to where he was staying. And the dead bodies are really disturbing. David explains to the group why he was there. Of course he is lying to the group. A flashback of David is shown unloading the deadly black goo payload on the planet. Killing the inhabitants in a disturbing and gruesome way. And Shaw's corpse is really disturbing on what David has done to her. The Neomorph comes to where the group was staying. And another one gets killed in a gruesome way. The Neomorph is then killed. David then shows his creation. The Xenomorph eggs to infect the Captain. A Xenomorph emerges out of the Captain later on. What's weird is the chest burster Xeno has arms and legs despite being tiny. Of course the Xeno grew big in a short amount of time. David and Walter fight. David of course wins this and pretends to be Walter. Another crew gets facehigged. The Xeno chases them. The Covenant was able to send a ship to pick up Daniels and her remaining crew. A battle with Xeno commences. Of course they kill it. The remaining crew went back into Covenant not knowing that they brought an infected crew member. Yes shower scene were 2 naked people are killed by the Xeno. Daniels and her second in command decides to hunt the Xeno. This reminds a bit of Dallas scene but instead of vents its hall ways. They trapped the Xeno. I wont spoil how the Xeno was taken out. It was purely awesome. With the Xeno gone, they decided to go back to cryo sleep Daniels notice the synthetic they were with was David. David brought Embryos with him that looks like miniature facehuggers. David ends up with 2000 people to experiment with.

I'll give this movie an 8 out of 10. Its definitely better than Prometheus. But its not as good as Alien and Aliens. Its definitely better than the AVP Movies. And this movie de-canonizes the AVP Movies. Can't wait for the sequel since Ridley did not disappoint me with this. I urge People to watch this 😄

The AVP movies decanonized themselves. They never were canon. They were set during the year 2004 or some shit and the same actor who played the Android in Aliens was Weyland... it's basically fan-fiction.

Can we consider the AvP films not canon then?

😐

We can consider them elephant turds.

Heck if I know, clearly you're the expert

All you have to do is watch the first AVP movie to know it doesn't fit with any of the Alien films.

Not to mention Ridley Scott hates them.

HOLY T!TS!! ONLY ABOUT A WEEK TO GO, MUTHER****ERS!

Does sound like a lot of repetition from the previous movies. Except it's extremely pretty, no doubt. Why oh why all the homages and repeats...?

Watch out for the most die hard Predator fans. They're the ones who keeps saying AVP Movies are canon to both Alien and Predator Movies. They'll use that skull on Predator 2 as proof even though it was already stated to be an easter egg joke by the special effects guys. Lance Henrikson the actor who played Bishop on Aliens and Charles Bishop Weyland on the first AVP Movie as proof the AVP Movies are canon even though Alien the Weyland-Yutani Report already retcon the Bishop in Alien 3 as Michael Bishop only and is not the owner of the company. Some of this Predator fans went so far to use the mural in Prometheus as proof the Xenomorphs already existed despite the fact the creature doesn't look bio-mechanoid like the Xenomorphs. Not to mention the creature in the mural looks fleshy and has a triangular head. Some mistake the creature in the mural looking like a Deacon. But to me, the creature in the mural looks more like the Neomorph.

Now a Genocidal Android created the Xenomorphs according to this movie 😂 Ridley destroyed the AVP Movies 😄

Because last time, Prometheus didn't have Xenomorphs and it was hated for being part of the Alien Universe. Not to mention the mental gymnastics Prometheus put the movie goers through. Ridley obviously learned from what made people hate Prometheus(even though I didn't hate Prometheus). Now I will admit this movie is paying homages to the past movies. But it still offers something new. David for example is very interesting.

Spoiler:
David used the black goo payload in this movie showing what would have happened to earth if it was used on humans. And David is now a genocidal mad scientist bent on destroying all life in the universe using his Xeno experiment. Probably because Shaw rejected him. So David is now a broken hearted Android. He keeps saying he loved Shaw. And yes this movie doesn't have a happy ending.
This movie actually helps Prometheus in a big way 🙂
