Hmmmmmm.... I don't really see how the Graboids win here. They fell for decoys and traps the entire movie and only really adapted at the end. All it would take is two or three well thought out traps for the Preds to win, and let's face it, that's what they do.
Plus their weapons may be able to harm a submerged Graboid. And if all else fails a Pred goes under after starting the wrist bomb.
They have no means of implementing a decoy, There only means of trap is the shoulder cannon which might get 1 but i don't think the other 2 would fall or it. and it's kind of hard to setup a decoy when every tree you jump too get's felled in a matter of minutes or they could just sink the whole area. What weapons do they possess that could harm them while submerged?
They have a plethora of weapons they carry one them and just about anything can be turned into a decoy. And i don't really recall the Graboids knocking down trees all willy nilly. Iirc when a guy climbed a tree like object they just sat around and waited. The bulidings "sinking" could be explained by the fact that giant monsters were circling them making the ground unstable which compromises the foundation. Just a theory of course.
Lasers for one. And the Graboids fell for many tricks before finally catching on. And iirc only one actually caught on at all. Then in the Predator movie with the jungle the were many cliffs to "scare" them off of.
EDIT: So bomb trick kills first, cliff kills second and suicide kills third
Originally posted by juggermanThe only ranged weapons they have are the cannon and spear and the spear isn't standard gear as iirc it was only seen in 1 movie. What exactly can they use as a decoy? The graboids don't just go for anything that moves it has to be continuous seismic movement the only thing they have that can do that is the cannon which they would grow accustomed to. Pis that they didn't knock down the poll, And the buildings being knocked down could be explained the way it was in the movie they tested the buildings then started knocking them down.

Multiple rocks being thrown my multiple people IOW continuous vibrations, and IIRC didn't it only work once?
Ok so multiple rocks from multiple Preds works just the same way. And no it(making noise to attract them) worked several times in the movie. Rocks, shouts, water, stomping, running, empty vehicle ect.

Distracting them isn't the same thing as making them come above ground long enough to be blasted.
