I guess. But if I did, I would have never had the experience of playing GTAV and Last of Us for the last year or so.

I can trade them in and get money for it and then 5 years from now when I want to replay them I can probably find them for 10-15 bucks and it would almost be a new experience playing it again because of the updated graphics.

Doesn't mean almost every game on last gen should do the same thing.
