Regardless I think this information technology has had changed human behavior, quite radically I might add, on a global scale.
I've heard the reference of kids being born with Ipads growing out their ears. There is an inner human sense of what's going on, that's how deep it is.
Remember, it may be closer to pen and paper, but look up the definition of exponential...
The switch is a lot closer than you could believe.

The big change has been a macro change--having people tweet about everything they see has shrunk the world, but I don't think people themselves have fundamentally changed, which is what you want to see happen.
I wonder, when the telegraph was invented were there proto-Doloses in top hats and sporting waxed mustaches proclaiming the impending singularity?

My name is Joseph, meaning "Prophet".
In all honesty, it's all another way to express the sense of change and evolution in a progressive manner. It doesn't begin or end with a human-robotic singularity. It is merely a paradigm shift of epic proportions, imo.

Yes.
1858 the Times of London: "Tomorrow the hearts of the civilized world will beat in a single pulse, and from that time forth forevermore the continental divisions of the earth will, in a measure, lose those conditions of time and distance which now mark their relations."
Around the same time there were also people making prophecies similar to a pseudo-Hegelian social/moral singularity.

Every name dictionary I've looked at says "Joseph" means something along the lines of adding or increasing. Eg...
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/joseph
http://www.behindthename.com/name/joseph
http://www.babynames.com/name/Joseph
One exception (likely the true meaning):

I know about "Joseph." 😉

Well, I used the example of the Islamic figure, the Prophet, because it fit my angle.
Dolos is a deceptive spirit, 😉 .
