How's that any different to how Wolverine was portrayed in the 1970's onwards.

Wolverine is all right in my book. He can definitely be more brutal, but I'm okay with how he is portrayed.

Maybe its just Jackman's charisma.

I think if he's going to have more Solo films, Its time for Fox to go hard & gritty for a movie.

Jackman isn't the problem. He looks the part(besides being too tall), can act, and seems to genuinely care about the character. The problem(s) are:
1.Both scripts failed. None of the other characters were interesting besides Schreiber's portrayal of Sabretooth(underrated) in Origins.
2.Films aren't nearly violent enough.
3.Casts are weak. Where was Ken Wantanabe?

I'd also like to note that both films trailers looked promising. Both films fell flat.

lets get a Japanese actor and the only one we can of if is Ken Wantanabe.

He's legit. The Wolverine wasn't terrible like Origins but it was barely decent.

What have you not liked him in? He was great in Inception, Letters From Iwo Jima, and The Last Samurai. Criminally underused in Batman Begins.
