The only time I recall a base form ever facing any Buu is #4 and #15, both ending as immensely casual stomps. Other than that it has always been SS level and above.

In the original Magma in japan. In their version Goku was at level3 and vegeta at level2 kid buu than killed them. Yada yada yada they came back and was able to keep up with buu in base form thanks to a power up . Akira Toriyama approved of all the DBZ movies, and Broly blew up a galaxy with one attack. Fat Janemba was stated to be a universe buster, and SSJ3 Goku RAPED him. Not to mention that Buu screamed so loud it was destroying all of creation, or in other words the multiverse. Show any Thor feats close to those, and I'll reconsider how badly Goku shits on Thor in base form.

Personally BoG is.. confusing.

The only difference between that film and the others is that Akira had a greater involvement and like one of the other films it has a more definite place in the timeline and does little to mess with continuity. A lot of people, the more rational ones on the net, say that it's canon for this reason.

Though imo I don't see a significant difference that would make this canon over the other non-canon material.
