Of course not.
I just don't think, either, that Johns and Morrison wrote Superman the way they did purely because Man of Steel would be coming out in a couple of years either.

He still has his fans but his popularity isn't what it used to be.Imo the biggest social outcasts mainly cheer for Superman.
And you base this on? Used to be compared to when?
IMO, you're still trying way too hard with the Superman trolling and it's making you come off as a butthurt dullard. Shape up.
Originally posted by RobtardNo, it is true. His popularity is dipping compared to what it used to be. Just relax about it.

As you can see, DC is fighting a losing battle against Marvel Comics in the Box Office...
Why aren't the complete worldwide box office totals being listed for all those movies in the opening graph? The numbers are distorted. The DC films up to Catwoman are worldwide totals; the same isn't being done for the Marvel ones. And they don't take inflation intro account.
It's obvious how far ahead in the game Marvel is, in the film industry.

That was a dodge 🙂 Try again 🙂And you base this on? Used to be compared to when?
Nothing ever remains the same forever.

So are you just going to ignore the Tv success of JL, JLU and Smallville?
On Tv Superman's actually had more popular exposure over the last 10 years than any of the Marvel heroes you've mentioned.
There are other mediums for the "current generation" than just the Big Screen.
That said even on the big screen it's not like Superman Returns flopped or anything. It was only rebooted because it didn't make the kind of big money Spider-Man, Batman and Iron Man make.

Critical thinking which apparently you're unable to do 🙂
Have you heard of shows like Smallville? It was pretty big (esp with the younger crowds) and only ended a couple years ago.
Superman Returns was only 7 years ago. While not a very good film, it was profitable and people went to go see it.
Comics and cartoons as well.
Edit: I see Darth Power already slapped you 🙂

Spider-Man is probably just as well known and marketable.
Batman is probably money wise the bigger draw of the two.
Ironman thanks to the success of the movies has gained quite a huge boost as well.
Since the newer generation gets exposed to all these people at the same time now the name Superman doesn't carry the same amount of weight.
I know his logo is still one of the most recognized on Earth and he still has mass appeal but the days of simply plastering Superman on something it being the thing to have are kind of coming to an end since this generation has a lot more choices and a lot of good quality out there to choose from.
