Aliens: action, action, Vasquez, Game-over-man-game-over, action, action...great setting and well-paced.Predator: 'Alien meets Rambo'! What a combo.
Predator 2: definitely some great, badass, macho action, if of B-movie calibre.
Alien: doesn't score higher cuz the story concept is hardly original. But the creature and its particular means of doing business was eye-catching.
Predators: more generic concept. Felt like the setting was bigger than the story. And not a great moment for Fishburne.
Alien 4: Barely ahead of Alien 3 cuz of half-Alien Ripley and Pearlman. +Some cool scenes.
Alien 3: I didn't like that Newt was dead. It was downhill from there, though Dance and Dutton had good moments (eg, "Is that all you got!"😉
I agree that Aliens was the most spectacular. I think if they put James Cameron on crew for the Justice League the Marvel franchise would be looking at such competition and inability to match as they have never known...
But I disagree with your synapse of Alien 3. Though, I admit I'm addicted to mortifying and demoralizing stuff in films, I love it. Id est, Requiem for a Dream, There Will Be Blood. That goes beyond films, but I won't get into that. 😈
