Quan, how would you have written the scene if you were in charge?

I would have written the scene with Vader easily taking them hostage without trying to kill Ezra or Kanan. Vader would also have fended off fire and showed up alone without troops. The rest of the crew would have escaped but his plan would have been to lure them back to break them out. After Vader allowed it he would pursue them himself to the other rebels.

That could work and would have been cool, but I see a couple problems.

First, the crew just rescued Kanan last episode. That's too repetitive, even for Star Wars! And they wouldn't have time to do all that - it would take another episode, and again they just did that cliffhanger scenario. It would be ballsy as heck to do that again so soon.

Second, people want to see light saber fights. If the capture is too easy it could be boring to some viewers who aren't as concerned about Vader's dignity as you are.

Plus, we don't know what their plans are for season two, but your capture scenario might not jibe with their story arc. They might not want Kanan and Ezra to have that much contact with Vader at this time.

Because yeah, let's throw our two main characters and the only Jedi we've seen aside from Ahsoka since the Clone Wars...to the biggest Jedi Hunter in the galaxy in the first episode of the new season.

Well, what they did do undermined Vader as a duelist IMO. But whatevs. Vader was always a mentally weak man.

And his true colours show.

Ignore him. He's just trying to lowball Vader. I've already shown Vader could have easily stabbed Kanan had he wished.

So me pointing out that he was always an emotionally troubled person who often turned on what he supposedly believed in the heat of the moment is showing my true colors.

Nah, you speculate like anyone can about hey what if this happened or if that happened nonsense. He tried to kill Ezra. Vader just didn't seem that powerful to me against these noobs.

He was emotionally unstable but as Darth Vader he was highly tactical and brilliant. However this makes since as he had to watch his mother die in his arms and kill her killers which is against the Jedi code and then he had to deal with the Jedi who wouldn't make him a master on the council, he felt like kenobi was holding him back, he was trying to prevent the woman he loved death, had to make a choice between Sidious and windu, and and to live with guilt of his wife's death.

Being emotionally unstable does not make one brilliant it makes one a liability. He always felt like a victim and never saw things as an adult. He always lashed out at the world for things that hurt him. In the end Anakin hilariously was the reason his wife died. All and all Anakin was a giant idiot.

Lol. Quanchi hit the nail on the head there for Anakin's character

He was the reason because Palpatine siphoned her life force into him to turn him into Vader, yes.

Clearly you don't watch TCW. Anakin Skywalker was a Tactical Genius.

He even outmaneuvered other military geniuses such as Admiral Trench.

So ? I did watch and saw him bellyache when Kenobi faked his own death to infiltrate and get information. They didn't want to include him because he is unpredictable. He's an emotional loose cannon who blamed Kenobi for lying to him. He's that scared little boy who always takes things too personally. He wanted to jump out of the ship to save Padme in atotc. A tactical genius doesn't go down like he did against Kenobi in Rots. Kenobi even warned him.

You're mixing and matching all sorts of different topics here as part of your futile quest to prove "Vader is weak."

They didn't include Anakin in Kenobi faking his death, so people believed Kenobi was dead. They needed Anakin's reaction to be real. Btw that's the same story arch where Kenobi stomps Cad Bane at the end ; )

In AOTC Anakin was still a Padawan. He clearly grew in maturity before he was Knighted.

He made a stupid jump at Kenobi when his mind was recently twisted by the Dark Side.

Nothing you have said has refuted Anakin's tactical genius. He outsmarted Military Genius Admiral Trench, something Kenobi thought was futile to even attempt. It was Anakin's idea to get to the Citadel bypassing sensors by freezing the crew in Carbonite. Kenobi didn't think of that, Anakin did. There's examples of this throughout TCW. He's simply a tactical genius no matter how much you cry about it.

And he's even more brilliant in Rebels as Vader now.

A major theme from early Anakin until the point of death he always struggled with attachment and overcoming his emotions. When things mattered most he was always a childish wild card. He didn't listen to Windu after he went after Sheev to arrest him.

So they realized that he couldn't play the part because he is a wild card. They even stated it. He still acted hurt when told and felt betrayed. Bane still bested Kenobi. Bane isn't that impressive IMO anyway.

He grew in power and regressed in maturity over padme visions.

That's one tactical high mark. I never said he was an idiot but when you look at his poor tactical decisions against Dooku and Kenobi its hit or miss. He's reckless and sometimes it pays off but sometimes he pays the price. You live by the sword you die by the sword.

He's up against a weaker rebel force with the backing of a galactic empire. The rebels are an ingenuitive bunch who got the better of Vader in their ship as of siege of lothal. 🙂

Euh... rebels, guys? Rebels! Not CW.

What's that for? The series or a game?

And when does series 2 continue?

Hmm, I think a game actually. Oh well.

Sometime in the fall, no date set yet.
