It doesn't matter. Shattered Empire showed how capable Luke is only shortly after ROTJ. Heck just look at the kind of s*** he's pulling off in the Star Wars comics which is Pre-ESB.FPJ needs to catch up on some Canon.
That too, but really you don't even need to look at the new comics and you'll see Luke is capable just from the movies alone.
But yeah...on the side, can't wait to see how Luke handled those Magnaguards and what sort of huge creature he's gonna be fighting.

It's ****ing retarded he can even say that tbh. The fact Luke could beat his father who is one of the most powerful Sith Lords in history, one of the greatest Jedikillers, and a being Palpatine said was unsurpassed in power with very little training is an amazing feat
What grinds me is he keeps saying Luke's not willing to fight, he's not a fighter and terrible with a lightsaber...
....Uh? What?
The Sarlacc battle? He destroyed all of Jabba's men and quickly took out Boba.
Endor? He fought and defeated Scout Troopers, hell he smashed one right into a tree.
The only one who he didn't wanna fight against was Vader, but no shit...that's his own father...who would want to? Even then Luke was contending with Vader and overwhelmed him at the end.
This isn't even taking into account all the quotes said about Luke from 3 of the most powerful Force Users in the galaxy at the time, Vader, Yoda, Sidious from ESB to ROTJ.
Yes all these things just from the movies alone, indicate that Luke is a pretty shitty Jedi....right...

Actually what's worrying is he was talking about Episode 7 Luke. That there's no way he's turned to the dark side because he's terrible with a lightsaber, and his whole strength is not fighting.I.e. He's assuming even Episode 7 Luke will be terrible with a Lightsaber.
....I didn't realize that using a lightsaber would lead to the darkside...I mean it certainly wouldn't be emotions or anything that is said throughout ALL 6 films...no, no it's using a lightsaber...
To me at this point, Dave and Prince just lost all credibility with me when it comes to things that aren't relating to their characters. The same with any other who is suppose to know this lore and help expand on it in this new canon, but can't even see the context in just the movies alone when it's literally right there infront of them.
Unless Dave n Prince and whoever else at some point comes back and says something different and correct...then I'm just gonna follow what they say about their own characters.
^ I mean people disagree about the exact level ROTJ Luke was at. Understandably as it's hard to determine how much Vader was or wasn't holding back against him in ROTJ. But FPJ just goes to new extremes with that.
The main thing for me however is that Luke should be the most powerful Jedi who ever lived Post-ROTJ. And I hope to GOD the people at Lucasfilm recognise that. Heck that's what Lucas always said that the reason Vader and Palpatine were so interested in him was because he could/would grow more Powerful than Palpatine.
Originally posted by NargarothHe said fighting / combat skills, so I'm pretty sure that would include more than just dueling (i.e. Force abilities in combat).
Okay, I watched the relevant part of the interview, and FPJ only said Ahsoka is one of the 3 or 4 greatest Jedi duelists of all time. But that's still great, because canon Vader currently needs saber feats more than anything else.

I mean talking Canon Only we know the Top 3 Jedi are Yoda, Mace and Anakin. So what FPJ is basically saying is she's the next best after those 3, and better than any other Jedi including Kenobi and Vos.

That and literally all the quotes said about Luke from Vader, Sidious and Yoda throughout ESB and ROTJ.
"He could destroy us."
"The Force is strong with him. The son of Skywalker must not become a Jedi."
"He has grown strong, only together can we turn him to the darkside of the Force."
"I've seen you've constructed a new lightsaber. Your skills are complete, indeed you are powerful as the Emperor as foreseen."
So on and so forth.
THE MOVIES!...Why is paying attention to context literally shoved into people's faces, so hard to do?
