Would the Ahsoka/Maul arc have been the final episode though? Didn't they say in the last Celebration somewhere that the end of TCW series would have gone post ROTS?
Well perhaps this episode would have gone post ROTS, so might have been.
Think Clone Wars ending with Yoda having his insight into already having lost the war by fighting it, and that Hope will come again later with patience, was quite a fitting end.
TCW should have addressed the Battle of Coruscant. It should have been the climax: an epic-ass go-for-broke battle for the fate of the universe.
Then a handful of episodes to serve as a denouement.
Honestly, Yoda's epiphany about the war is inappropriate. I like that he doesn't "get it" until after his showdown with the Emperor in the Senate.

But Maul just gets more powerful though after defeats?
He needs to start beating noteworthy opponents to display that increase in power. That's not going to happen under Filoni though.
The Only noteworthy opponent Filoni ever had Maul beating under neutral circumstances was Opress. And even that was a last minute addition and Witwer's idea IIRC.
