You guys do know that Finding Nemo is beating the crap out of all the movies released so far in the year 2003 right? So far it grossed 303 million domestically here in the states with the nearest being matrix reloaded with 275 million.
I do think Return of the King will beat out Nemo for top spot if you include its running through 2004 since it is coming out in december.
EDIT: go to rottentomatoes.com and go under box office to see the total gross.
(blows dust off old thread)
Here is the top ten as of the 18th July:

002 $ 213.9 $ 164.7 $ 378.6 X2: X-Men United (2003)
003 $ 233.2 $ 122.2 $ 355.4 Bruce Almighty (2003)
004 $ 295.2 $ 28.0 $ 323.2 Finding Nemo (2003)
005 $ 126.1 $ 52.4 $ 178.5 Hulk (2003)
006 $ 102.5 $ 71.3 $ 173.8 Daredevil (2003)
007 $ 133.8 $ 38.0 $ 171.8 Anger Management (2003)
008 $ 116.7 $ 20.8 $ 137.5 Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003)
009 $ 122.5 $ 9.9 $ 132.4 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)
010 $ 132.2 n/a $ 132.2 Bringing Down the House (2003)
Matrix Reloaded, then, doing very well indeed, but it seems that ROTK will beat it based on previous numbers.
Maybe... I suspect Reloaded will do better than its sequel but I am open to being wrong.
Also, vis a vis Captain Nemo, Disney movies only tend to make an equal amount out of the US as they do inside, which seriously impairs its potential to beat films like the Matrix Reloaded and LOTR which make between 150% and 200% as much abroad.
