DCnU Superman vs DCnU Hal Jordan

Superman wanted to find out what Orion's deal is, so he blitz-ragdolled him into the ground to question him.

The fact that Superman is able and willing to speedblitz a high-herald [who also happens to have superspeed] is what's relevant here, not the fact that his punches didn't turn his face into mush, when that's blatantly shown as not being Superman's intention in the first place.

And also, Superman has blitzed Hal before, in Justice League. So there's that.

Or maybe Orion was just amused at Superman's girly punches.

Orion doesn't need superspeed to deal with a speedblitz. Just his chin.

Anybody can bumrush. Not everybody can speedblitz. We both know the difference.

Hal certainly has the benefit of being able to "keep" most of his monster feats under Johns. Early Justice League n00b Hal doesn't really begin to compare to vet GL. And I think the gap between early JL Hal to current Hal is larger than early JL Superman to current Superman.

Imo, of course.

I agree and that's what makes it interesting to me.

Orion doesn't need superspeed to deal with a speedblitz getting ping-ponged around at superspeed. Just his chin. face armor and durability.

Anybody can bumrush. Not everybody can speedblitz. We both know the difference.

Orion wasn't as amused earlier, when Superman punched him harder than he ever was beforehand.

Also, fixed.

Superman can do both.

Vet GL Hal was still, at best, evenish with Wonder Woman. And that's a generous interpretation for Hal.

Fact of the matter is, even if it was 5 years ago, the relative portrayal to one another will remain. Superman will still be the overwhelming force. He was then, he will be now. And speculating on how much 'they improved' in those years won't change that - on the contrary, with Wonder Woman as a staple of comparison (she hasn't gotten a power upgrade, as far as we know), the Superman of 5 years ago would also beat the utter shit out of current Hal.

Wait until Pak gets a hold of him.

True, Superman should stick to slugging instead of speedblitzing.

Are you trying to tell me that wasn't a speedblitz?

He can do both. He just didn't speedblitz in the Justice League fight, contrary to what you said.

It wouldn't be in everybody's best interest for Superman to hit as hard when blitzing as he does when he slugs. Things would go moosh very quickly.

I already said it was a speedblitz. In response to one of your posts, no less:

Having trouble focusing? Get some sleep. Eat healthy. Masturbate every now and then to anything other than dictionaries.

I didn't say he speedblitzed in the JLA fight in the traditional sense. I said he blitzed Hal. Which he did. He used his superspeed to charge in a blur of motion and knocked him out. It would be weird having Superman shoot blitz-punches traditional style against a human GL, auto-shields or not.

I'm sure Superman can pack his full power into each and every single one of those speedblitz punches... based on no comics, whatsoever.

Then why would you cross out "speedblitz" and insert ping-pong? Way to backtrack.

Just another quaneuver on your part. Not surprised.

Anybody can bumrush. Already been through this. And I'm sure Hal was knocked out as much as Superman was knocked out by Aquaman.

Just because Orion's lived a sheltered life doesn't mean he was hit actually hard.

Because we know for a fact that he can laugh off Superman's hardest punches in a blitz format.
