Beast vs Classic Kingpin

Started by Digi2 pages

Anyone saying KP has always been just around peak human is objectively wrong. It isn't just that he overpowered Spider-Man on several occasions (holding back is one thing, getting your sh*t rocked in strength is quite another), but he had numerous other feats that don't involve such subjectivity. Among other things, he snapped steel beams with his bare hands, and toppled a structure that was easily multiple tons in weight. Classic was written as at least Class 10.

He's not there now, and there was no stated depowering. It just happened due to writer portrayal. Welcome to comics.

Anyway, Classic KP destroys Beast.

Didn't "current" still take a giant asswhooping from a severely pissed off pre-Meph Spider-Man?

Because if I'm not mistaken that's the basis for a depowerment, when in actuality that's a pretty solid feat for him standing up to that shit.

Yeah, that was when Parker's ID was public and he was in the black suit, iirc.

Where he went to the jail and embarrassed him. Really, there's not many under-100 characters capable of taking that much punishment from a pissed off Spider-Man at the level he was at there.

Mind you, I'm not too keen on Kingpin's history, but I hope this isn't why he's depowered.

Classic Kingpin could **** Hank and there's nothing he could do about it.

Though that would be extremely disturbing imagery.

Beast has the potential to be great, but said potential is untapped, likely because McCoy doesn't give in to his feral instincts. I don't think he's "bad", but he's not as skilled as Fisk.
👆all heart, no gut

QFT if thats where the idea of his depowerment came from then im not buying it either. The guy just took apart (literally) several ninjas with his bare hans, recently crushed a statue with his fingers and nearly ripped BC (a legitimate enhanced human) to pieces.

Class 10 is wonderful, no one in their right mind would claim that classic Kingpin is peak human (at least not by feats). Even from his Daredevil portrayal's alone , be it Bendis, Miller or Smith, he is around superhuman strength.

And he'd still get trashed by Beast.

There's about 40 years of solid and consistent portrayal in the X-Men and Avengers, where he is at the very least class 10. His agility is up there and the feats with his feet are go beyond class 10. There's also the enhanced senses and claws. One rake and Kingpin's got no eyes.

Who has Kingpin beaten?

Track record is hard when you're a part of a team.

I'm sure I can dig up a ton of scans of Beast getting in the last hit on a hundred guys throughout the ages, but there's precious few solo-encounters.

Spider-Man and Captain America come immediately to mind ...
(Cap was saved by his pet eagle, however)

The following, for instance, was Kingpin's 2nd skirmish with Spider-Man, a near pure hand-to-hand engagement:
