Didn't say I wasn't eager. 😉

ha-son

I just finished watching The Hobbit and actually enjoyed it more than I expected. So, I might actually go to this one in the theater. I'm still really curious to see how the 48 f/sec will look, too. Gollum was the best part of the movie, though. Does anyone know if he's going to make an appearance in the next two movies?

Smeagol...

Man..

Smaug's not mammalian?

Oh well. I at least hope it talks...

Smaug sounds great!

Benedict Cumberbatch's voice sounds f*cking phenomenal!

Indeed it does my friend!

So they're still going with the throaty whisper talk as a substitute for dramatic tension in dialogue... And did that trailer just hint of a romantic subplot between Legolas and that chick? Guess part of Orlando's contract demanded that the move prove his characters has a case of the not-gays.

Though yeah, Smaug sounds great.

Something about these new films looks a little too squeaky clean and over produced. And I don't remember getting as much of that vibe from the previous Lord of the Rings films. But then again, I did enjoy the first Hobbit a lot more than I expected.

Very exciting but the trailer I think is too long, I am hoping that it had only some of the great moments and not all of them!

It probably had all the greatest moments and a few of the lesser ones.

Could somebody who remember the book or read it recently tell me if there's anything in there about how Smaug knew Sauron was alive and well and darkness was coming to all corners of middle earth? He seems to have been slumbering for awhile and upon waking up.. almost immediately knows darkness is coming when talking to Bilbo. How?

The movie took several liberties; seems this was one of them.
