His emotions caused him to disobey the jedi council and then help train the guy who ended up helping in wiping them out lol. That is not a situation that turned out for the best for Obi Wan. His emotions lead him to make the mistake of training Anakin. This is why the jedi are essentially supposed to not have those emotions. When a normal person gives into those things not much happens usually, but when a space wizard does it can have consequences.Side note, Yoda did get all uppity about Anakin being too young, but he was 70 when he joined. And I don't think it has been said he develops at a slower rate, so he'd already lived a full life by the time he joined.
Don't get me wrong, the jedi were retarded. Palpatine might as well of worn a t-shirt that said "I'm a Sith Lord ask me how". They wouldn't do anything. Remember these are the people that sent a single jedi to take on the evil robot that was key to ending the war. Smart, they are not.
Kenobi also watched over Luke and his actions were always spot on. Yoda also failed to stop Anakin/Dooku/Sidious. Yoda was the head of the order not Kenobi.
As I said emotions and being that strict is denying your own humanity. Too strict just as relying purely on passion alone is too far to that side. Balance, nerd.
