It was an impossible tactic back then, and it still is now, and no amount of evidence contradicts this assertion.🙂

How does Superman "wreck" Surfer when Surfer can just phase though him?
He will figure out a way, like burning the living hell out him with heat vision or just punching him to death. He might phase through him a few times, eventually SS is going to have to face him and when he does, he goes down hard. SS was weak in that movie anyways, please don't pump him up.

Surfer has got nothing for him.

Except for versatility, greater firepower, and being downright more powerful.Lol, Surfer disintegrated a supernova-tanking being with little to no effort. How does Superman put him down? Weak? Are you out of your mind? He killed a planet-sized planet-destroying entity. None of Superman's feats are even remotely on par with that.
He had to try and kill himself to take out Galactus. I don't see suicide or bust as a very powerful tool. Since when did you guys start pumping up this weak SS.

Surfer still beats the absolute sh1t out of Superman in this thread.
The movie version of surfer is dependent on his "board" Superman will easily remove him from that sooner or later and when he does, well it's game over. Even if he doesn't, Surfer hasn't shown the ability of being able to phase.

It required weakness exploitation to remove Surfer from his board so I doubt he'd be doing it easily if at all. And IIRC, isn't the first scene from the movie Surfer flying through an exploding planet as Galactus consumes it?
One of this Surfer's go to moves is phasing from what I can tell. Personally, I think Superman is paddling up a creek against Surfer in the movie verse. Norrin's overall power is just on a different scale imo and his Power Cosmic could do practically anything.

He was blowing holes from one side of the planet to another all across the world. You know, the kind of feat which the Kryptonians need a phucking gravity machine to perform. He also vaporized a supernova-tanking being. Not to mention messing up the FF's powers.
More versatile, more powerful and way cooler than MoS. Surfer will obliterate him without even breaking a sweat.

^ Yep Movie Surfer wrecks the MOS Superman. There's no way to remove him off his board without the plot based tachyon crap. He can phase through attacks, and even without phasing no limit was shown to his durability. And just flying throughout the Galaxy FTL requires ridiculous durability. Plus the power he showed was crazy. Drilling holes through the planet, disintegrating Doom, and destroying a Planet eating being.
But he can take any of the Avengers one on one. Although movie Thor and Hulk combined can probably hold him off.
