Ares Vs Aquaman

Good fight. Stalemate 5/10.

Hasnt Aquaman shown to be stronger than Ares? I dont remember many Ares feats.

^ He doesn't have many (if any) straight lifting feats, but Ares is strong enough to fight Immortal Hercules for an entire comic. Strength really isn't the overriding issue. Even if Aquaman is stronger, Ares' healing factor, damage soak, viciousness and fighting acumen are more than enough to even it out.

Ares wins. If Aquaman hits Ares with the trident, with his damage soak and healing factor he'll survive, but the same could not be said of Aquaman if Ares clipped him with his axe. Since this is going to be a bloody close combat fight, his immortality wins it for him.

Aquaman has the edge stat wise, but Ares has the healing factor and the experience.
Both of them have unbreakable weapons so no advantage there (unless you consider the reach of the Trident)

I believe slight advantage to Aquaman due to stats and consistency (New 52).

That said I hate how Marvel Ares is not on the level he should be (equal to Thor or at least closer than he was).

I don't believe Aquaman has the stat edge. Not after the push Ares received. He can job but it's pretty clear that he wasn't far off someone like Hercules.

And if his healing factor is played up, I don't know how Aquaman can put him down. His trident can impale him right through the chest but that won't stop Ares, but an axe through the chest will incapacitate Arthur.

I remember the push Ares got, like when he beat A-Bomb. And that was step in the right direction.

You might be right, but I wish we had seen most of that. The strength difference might be inconsequential no matter who has the edge.
Although I believe AQ is faster and more mobile.

Anyway strength I don't believe is the deciding factor here.

I still think AQ has a slight edge due to speed but if he can't KO Ares with the Trident he will eventually loose. But I believe AQ will be able to KO Ares even if it takes a headshot or something similar.

This fight really depends on which Ares we use. If we use the version that appeared in the min-series by Oeming for example? Imho he would rape Aquaman, especially since he had Wolverine-like damage soak on top of his godly stats. F*ck man, that mini was awesome, I recommend you read it if you haven't.

He really didn't beat A-Bomb, he threatened him with his axe and that basically was it. The fight from what I remember was Ares grabbed him and threw him to the ground and then threatened him with the axe.

He definitely punked A-Bomb pretty hard but he didn't finish him off.

Ares did well against Skaar as well, hell, he matched his strength.

Ah OK. I remember he had somehow physically subdued A-Bomb.

And yeah Rage I really like Ares and want him to be shown as a god and not some brick to fill some roster. I also have read a 5 parter (I think) mini. It must be the one from the Oeming.

The X-men also had to resort to Valkyrie getting a power-up from Hela because no one on their roster could stop Ares. Poor Colossus, he was stuck fighting Venom because Ares would push his shit in. Forever B-list.

I also remember him overloading Rogue's power. He also did pretty decent against Thor around Blood and Thunder.

Hmm, I change my mind, Ares at his best would have a clear strength edge as well.
