I've played LOZ since I was 4, agreed they had that much POWER, but Link was never that skilled.
Same here, mate! (<----You OK with that?) I've been at this since I could handle a controller. Give me hands, brother!
Anyways, given Link's consistently demonstrated ability to instantly learn to use a new weapon/item immediately after acquiring it, master new skills after practicing them only once, manhandle monstrous beings well outside of his weight class, promptly deduce enemy patterns and weaknesses moments into a battle and exploit them accordingly, and thwart a nemesis with 700+ years of experience on him, I would reasonably argue that Link is, in fact, monumentally skilled, even compared to his HW spin-off counterpart.
So do like half of fantasy game characters. He never really seemed that special of a swordsman just standard hero who knew how to use it. which isn't to say he's bad just the games haven't really showcased hi mas super super skilled fighting master or anything at least not anymore then any other game with a main character who fights monsters and gets new items mid game. Especially when we take into account how powerful people say each of them items and Link himself is.

So you and I could reasonably do the same (or similar)? mmm awesome
Seriously, though, he's mastered the backflip without practice. Are you really going to argue with that?! uhuh

So have you actually played another Zelda game yet? Also I sincerely hope you're not going to pit Link against the frigging Gangs of Newyorkverse. I really liked that movie, it'd be a shame to see the entire cast get crushed.

Scenario. I broke his spirit though. I kinda felt bad for a nanosecond but he deserved his fate.
Aw, thanks. I love you, too.

His mental intelligence and natural skill to master things have never been questioned. Hi'm just saying he has never been taught how to literally **** SHIT UP on the battlefield like the destroyer of all days. I guess his time in the Hylian Army coupled with his amazing ability to master techniques in no time at all resulted in his HW martial sword skill.
