Hahahahah, love it! It really does feel like the umpteenth go-around for leo and I. Like, I know CDB has actually been around the same amount of time, but there's more shared history with leo.

In my Eyes NO ONE is the Floyd Mayweather of the KMC Tournament. No one has been dominating the sport for 15 years, with a lot flash, and plenty of controversy.

Scoobless woulda been the closest if he had kept participating, but he's basically retired now. Leo has the titles but not the controversy.

charlotte told me a plan she had a while ago that would have destroyed the tournament, even if you all fought her simultaneously, and it was legal

Thats great! Do you want to hear my plan? There is no way to disarm me, and I am going to blink every single one of you out of existence.

Unless that's illegal. 131fist

Part Dos

Manny Pacquiao - Leo
Back to back losses from the former #1 P4P lost his crown, and his ranking. Embarking once again to reclaim both.

Juan Manuel Marquez - Digi
After finally settling the score, with a shocking upset. Digi seeks to add another belt to his list of accomplishments.

Adrien Broner - Chipguy
The new up, and comer with massive potential to reach the top P4P list.

Timothy Bradley - Charlotte
Despite her list of accomplishments, what does she have to do gain proper respect, and recognition? How about a collision course with the best of them!

Danny Garcia - Psycho Gundam
Psycho Swift Gundam, continues to win, despite people underrating him.

Lucas Mytthysse - Id
Bitter over the fact that he was cheated out of two matches. Id La Maquina, relies on overwhelming his opponents to a crushing K.O., to take away the the decision from the Judges.

Brandon Rios - Tijay
One-Dimensional.

Mike Alvarado - Abhi
Two-Dimensional

Robert Guerrero - Beatboks
Made a lot of noise before his fight, grossly riding on self confidence, and revealing fight plan.

Devon Alexander - Sin
Three-Dimensional

Or Smurph from his Mid-Herald challenges. I don't really see him losing to anyone with Jesus Cable.

Silly Gundam. You haven't realized that "This hand of mine glows with an awesome power. " 313wank

I was the lone D-bag voting against him. But apparently I'm lower on God-Cable than literally anyone else on the forum. I actually apologized to Smurph for my judgements. I still think the WW match was close as hell, so I don't necessarily want to say my decision was wrong. But it undoubtedly was in the Magneto match (sorry leo).

But yeah, Jesus Cable is a beast, and quite possibly the class of all mid herald, even accounting for tricky matchups.

And who's to say I wouldn't be dominating HH with Thor if people kept challenging me? There's not a single high herald I'd be afraid to face with him. biscuits ...Luke at high meta, however, had his days numbered. He's hella-cool, and some actually tried to have him banned for a couple feats (which is ridiculous, but I digress). But there were numerous powers he couldn't quite account for.

pfft. i still don't know how i lost that match tbh. i get why i lost to luke. no real tp resistance will get you beat in a hurry. i rolled the dice that your guy wouldn't have tp and lost. still, that match was one of the best i've been part of. loads of weird things/match ups, offenses and defenses. thought MAYBE i coulda convinced the judges with my shoddy tp defense, but, alas rex was over-matched. cable overmatched mags as well, but i still thought i'd done enough to win that. next time i try for one of those belts, i just may use someone i actually BELIEVE i can win with as opposed to someone i just really like..... maybe.

oh and nice job with the boxing comparison id. lol i like the soccer one too by ov, i just wish i knew a thing about soccer. i AM coaching my girls 10years' team, so i'm learning though. lol

Scoobs wasn't very controversial or flashy. In fact, he was often kind of bland. Good at the basics.

Yeah, the boxing analogies are great. 👆

You were beat in both. 😛

To your credit, you got a LOT out of Magneto. And Luke is enough of a swiss army knife for high meta that accounting for everything he can do is hard. I woulda felt confident gambling on no tp defense too. There's only so many credible telepaths at or below that level that someone would draft. So you just got a bit unlucky there.

But yeah, it was a great match. We were both frustrated with the others' pick, and it was about as unique a 1-on-1 match as I've ever seen.

I fully expected to get smashed by Smurph with Sandy Hawkins at high meta though. Even as a JSA fan with knowledge of Sand's weaknesses, Luke had some options, but mostly was in a lot of trouble.

Suppose so. You actually riled up controversy more often. If you were entered, you might be the better pick for Floyd.

With Scoob I was just referring to his success over several years of tourneys. Even after cooling off a bit, his tourneys/wins ratio is still pretty ridiculous.

It should be worth noting that me calling Leo Spain is not a glowing endorsement.

I think Spain is going to fall hard in 2014. estahuh

Just for the record, there is no way in hell I'm winning this thing if everyone uses what they have to maximum effect. there are 4 amalgams that should easily cut me down. Dont take a little light hearted bs too seriously the banter was simply to ensure everyone was keyed up and committed. I would say an average of 5 to six tourney's I join a year die because players just let it go and dont participate. I've found that when some of my adversaries on other forums go the mouth off road everyone stays in because they all want to shut him/ her up. No one else seemed to be doing it so J figured it would have to be me.

jokes on you then--i had no idea if spain was even any good. sneer

I got the soccer references, not interested in boxing, though, so there I'm just like Leo in soccer.
Disagree with some:

Beatboks: Greece-a new contender with promise, but also very cocky and not favored to win.

More like Egypt or Ivory Coast: big thing back in Africa (Comicvine), not so big at international arena.
Tijay: South Korea-I know very little about it, I want to give it the benefit of the doubt, but I don't see it getting past the semis

More like New Zealand - big fish in rather small pond, underdog of the tourney, no strong player in the roster.

Also I think that PG is a bit more neutralizer-dependent than I am Emma-dependent, so Argentina is more suitable for him. I settle with France (current, not Zidane-era and not Crappy 2008-2010 era), or maybe England. Yes, England is the most suitable. Always favorite, never to win anything substantial.
And Greece in your prognosis is Chipguy. A team whose performance is entirely coach-dependent.

Update (all for fun, mind you):

beatboks - Withdrawn
jitay - Withdrawn

Leo - 4/1
Id - 5/1
PG - 7/1
Digi - 7/1
Charlotte - 7/1
Sin - 10/1
Abhi - 10/1
Chipguy - 10/1

Small bumps up for a few due to the dropouts. Small bump down for PG because leo got to see his opening match. The (hypothetical) bettors are shying away from him despite an easy early-round victory. A win against leo would likely propel him up to the top slot. The long odds on Sin, Abhi, and Chip made them attractive options, and a flood of early bets have lowered their lines. Everyone wants to pick the underdog that shocks the tourney.

Still not knowing much, Charlotte, PG, and I are probably decent plays at 7/1. Since anyone can jump out into the "favorite" position, I'd be inclined to bet on those with slightly longer odds, for the potential payout alone.

Upsets will happen though. Only a matter of time.

Yeah upsets are going to happen.

Segway to abhi/digi trash talk

Looking forward to Leo vs PG.

Segue* darling. 😉

Trash talks is boring to me. And I've been a part of enough tourneys where it turned dark and insulting that I actively dislike more than sarcasti-smilies and light jabs.

If abhi takes issue, I'd remind him that my ranks are not my own, but on the reception to each competitor in this thread. I personally know how absolutely futile it is to pick favorites in tourneys before we've seen at least one match from each. If abhi sweeps the judges in our match, it won't actually be an upset in any traditional sense. We both have as much chance as the other. I posture occasionally like everyone else to play along, but any hubris from any of us is mostly rooted in ignorance at this point. The odds are just for fun.
