I honestly disagree with most of my picks too, though I stand by my assessment of "Id" being Germany, Leo being Spain (or at least Spain-like), and you and PG being Argentina and Brazil. I wasn't suggesting that you were Emma dependent, I was more suggesting that the nature of your picks means that you're likely pushing for a victory that involves manipulating your opponents, be it via psychic powers or magnetism.

I can see you being England I guess, but then that would mean that at some point in the recent past you threw away a win with an embarrassing own goal. Can you remember something like that? biscuits

Screwing up my research on battlefields in first Delph's tourney or semifinals with PG come as close to that as tourney rules allow. Semifinal with PG is THE match you're looking for, probably. Poor choice of goalkeeper (Cecilia Reyes) = lost semifinal.

Thats me & Kandy.
High Herald
Genis-Vell - Silver Surfer - Onslaught.
And we lost the Final by split decision.
Yeah it was some time ago I made the list. Like Digi said made more for character's that had been drafted a lot and based on the tier should have been great picks but had never won.

My list has Spider-Man, Ironman, and Juggernaut. You can see my reasoning in the list.

the legality (?) of accessing true legion and the miracle machine may require a revising of odds..... 😐

The best part of my plan? How seemingly easy it is to pull off? Or the legality of it?

Both! Its simply legal. Everything from within the confines of the tournament rules, to the drafts, to the prep/strat.

Focus on your match there, Ozymandias. We're literally about 5% of the way into this thing.

😉

Yep, its excalibur time. Beware digi.

Not so fast bro. Chip may not realize it but there are limitations to the powers of Rogue. Then maybe he does.

Relax, abhi. The Miracle Machine is abstract level. There were some explicit rules against prep stuff, to avoid Reed grabbing the nullifier or something similar. The Miracle Machine could literally wipe out the whole tournament. There's no way it should be allowed. And if it is, well, we have larger issues and this will soon turn into an abstract prep-grab instead of a high meta tourney.

I have a PM in to curry. Let's wait to see what happens before posting evil smilies like all of our abstract baubles are going to be allowed. It's not the first this has happened though. TricksterPriest tried to build the Warlogog in prep one time, and the (correct) response from all involved was "uh, no." That's why it's aways best to check all potentially-controversial strategies with the host first. People think they're sneaking something in under the radar, but usually they're just creating in-match nightmares for themselves.

Also, Britain is your powers pick. You don't get access to his gear anyway. srug

What about True Legion? That's way above meta level.

It would be a different ruling, I would think, because it's accessed via power mesh, not via prep. Curry will likely have to review it, but I doubt it would fall under the same ruling.

It still violate tourney rules.

According to you. Again, I've PM'd curry about it, suggesting he review it but refraining from my own recommendation or opinion, since it would obviously have some bias. We'll see how it shakes out, in both cases.

I don't have access to my scans at work. I can't really tackle my match until tonight. Just trying to make productive use of my down time.

😉

I'm sorry, but were people confused when we outlined the Tourney stuff? 😛

This is an amalgam tournament, obviously there's going to be stuff that completely destroy the high-meta limit here. I'm not going to go into specific debates and have people recall their preps because some people feel its unfair that their opponent came up with an amalgam that went further beyond the high meta tier than their own amalgam did.

It doesn't matter what powers current Rogue was drafted with, ID's using a different route to access them. Power unlock is a big part of this tournament. I'm not going to touch his strat because people didn't think to match his drafts 🙂

There's a fine line between bringing high meta++ stuff and meshing into it. I'm going to look into the specifics here but people should be neither surprised nor outraged at the stuff being brought to the table here.

I did make a specific mention about Reed and Doom not being very good draft since their not allowed to bring stuff that is clearly way beyond the high-meta tier. As such I'm going to PM a few of you about stuff like that. There's a very legit concern that people are bringing top-tier stuff to the battlefield and not creating it.

That's what I thought - as it pertains to amps like mine or unlocks like Id's - but it's good to have clarification anyway. I never thought either was in serious jeopardy of being disallowed. Prep is perhaps the bigger concern, because others will follow suit with >>>> meta items if allowed.

Thanks though.

I don't want to go into specifics, but things like the miracle machine is very worrisome 😛

It obviously stems from a misunderstanding (my fault) and not a genuine attempt at breaking the rules. Fortunately it was intended to be used for "think - you dead" but a far more reasonable application. Which in turn is what makes it something of a grey area.

I'll work something out with Chip, tho I really don't think ID has much of a problem with it being used for teleportation/radation.

Yeah, chip's application of it is remarkably tame, and his strategy is quite cool. But the precedent it sets could be dangerous. That's the fear.
