Momoa is a joke of an actor, no talent, can;t act..

just another horrible casting choice by people who cannot cast worth of a damn

I guess David Hasselhoff will play Thomas Wayne during the flashback scenes

WB/DC continues their streak of bad casting choices.

I have a question for gologo13 or anyone else as well.
Lets say afflek, j.eisengerg, gal gadot, momoa, (and whom ever else I forgot that was a "bad" casting), lets say they all do a good job portraying their characters.
would that justify their casting to you? Even if they dont look the part of how these characters traditionally look?

If the answer is "yes" then wouldn't it be even better to cast Actors that would do a good job portraying the characters AND also look the part better than what WB/DC have casted?

I think all the people complaining (me included) want BOTH. the look and also the role played well.

why is it so hard for you to get this? I know you are excited for this film, but do you at least get this point?
If you love DC(i know you do) wouldn't that make you a little upset that they might butcher the characters in any way? (the characters you love). I don't get how you can blindly accept EVERYTHING about this film.

Same thing for the new Fantastic four reboot. Horrible.

I feel the exact same way. Marvel has done a good job with their main characters without upsetting anyone. All WB has done is upset large amounts of people.

I haven't seen him in anything outside of Game of Thrones. He did a decent job with Khal Drogo.

😆 I shouldn't be surprised if they do.

I don't need the actors to look the part. Michael Clark Duncan was good as Kingpin. Intimidating to me. Hugh Jackman is awesome as Wolverine. Most of the time. What matters to me is how the story is. And, yes, the acting. But, IMO, most of the actors they have cast are quality actors. For the exception of Gal, who is the weak link.

Yeah, he is a solid actor, with charisma and presence. He's not going to win any Oscars, but most of the Marvel actors that are in Avengers aren't going to win any, either.

I'm not saying everyone is going to like it, but would you say the GENERAL audience hated it? Because the fact remains that most people went to see IM 3 twice, which is why it made so much at the BO.

Most people saw Spider-Man 3 twice as well. It's what happens when hype for a franchise is at overload. Your friends who haven't seen it drag you out to watch it a second time. Kids who are taken in by the hype through toy merchandising drag their parents to watch it again and again. You can put the mega success of IM3 down to IM1 and The Avengers. Just like you can put the mega success of SM3 down to SM1 and SM2.

Yet, nearly 80% liked the movie according to Rotten Tomatoes. And it's rated fairly high at IMDB. Same thing with The Dark Knight Rises. You hear a lot of people on the internet (Which is relatively small number vs the GA), yet it's ranked #50 on IMDB's top 250 movies of all time.

You can say the same about MOS, which many didn't like, but it sold in the millions in DVD/Blue Ray sales. So, yes, most of the people liked it.

I doubt his portrayal in Game of Thrones will be the same as Snyder's Aquaman. 2 different characters.

Also, the staff of AMC movie talk loves this casting. Says he's quite talented, with a lot of charisma. Not confirmed, though.

YouTube video

You do realise that John Campea of AMC movie talk absolutely hates the Gal Gadot casting right? Calling it one of the worst casting decisions every made.

But I guess that's when you decide to suddenly disagree with AMC.

Those Imdb figures tend to go down over time. Especially for movies which had shot loafs of hype at the time but we're generally bad movies.

Oh no many people really enjoyed TDKR. And many people loved MOS. In fact weren't you the one who showed us the figures that MOS killed IM3 on DVD sales? A bit strange considering the box office success. But end of the day you generally only buy a film if you like it. Whilst many people with watch films at the cinema which they wound up hating.

Yeah, so what? He talks about it all the time. But just because he hates one casting, doesn't mean he hates them all. He's actually favors everyone else.

I don't see Iron Man 3 dipping down below 7.0. So, anything around that is solid. It's highest was around 8.1 or so and it has already went down, because of the hype you say. So, it's holding steady now.

Thats dumb. lets cast Peter Dinklage to play Darkseid then. He is a fantastic actor.
Jonah Hill (oscar nominated actor) to play Martian Manhunter or Kyle green lantern

You still dont seem to get it 😕

First off Daredevil wasn't part of the MCU, but anyhow...

Michael Clark duncan playing a good Kingpin <<< (Another actor) playing a good Kingpin AND that actually looks like comic book kingpin.

Hugh Jackman actually doesnt look too far off on how wolverine looks besides the height. Dont know why you used him as an example.

so again lets see if you get it this time.

actor that plays the part well <<<<<< actor that plays the roll well AND looks like the person he/she is portraying

Yeah, and Ben Affleck looks like Bruce Wayne, Gal resembles WW, the actor they got for Cyborg resembles Cyborg, Jason M looks like Aquaman, Jeremy Irons looks like Alfred, etc...

Not far off, IMO.

So, I don't need the actor to look 100 %. And Wolverine isn't supposed to look like a 6 ft. model. So, no, he doesn't really look like Wolverine.

My point was do you agree with him that the Gal Gadot casting is bad, or are you just going to support every decision WB makes with this.

In terms of looks, it's not that bad. It's the acting I'm worried about.

You really think Gal Gadot looks like WW? Seriously?

She's not even proven herself as a good actress, so she fails on both counts IMHO.

He is supposed to be really muscular. I think the studios (rightly so) realized they're making him the face of the franchise, so it probably won't be as popular with the general audience if they get someone 5'4 to play him.

They do however make the effort to give him the Wolverine look. And it's not like they got a blond guy to play him or anything ridiculous like that.

Anyway I'll be honest the Momoa casting (if it's true) doesn't bug me much (probably because I'm not a big Aquaman fan). Not nearly as much as the WW casting anyway. I'm just arguing that it's stupid when Movie studios move away from the comics for no good reason. I mean it's not like audiences are going to be more accepting of a darker Aquaman. and it makes me wonder what other essential parts of the core lore they'll change just so in their mind "audiences will accept him."

Yes, she does look like a WW. Do you think Jamie Alexander looks like Sif? Or Michael Clark Duncan as Kingpin? Or Heath as Joker? These aren't the comics and comic nerds (don't take that in a negative way) always think in the literal sense when it comes to casting. Producers hire at left field all the time and although it doesn't always work out, there are tons of inspired choices.

Wait until we see an ACTUAL pic before we pass judgement. They gave Hugh Jackman the look like you say. Why can't they do that for Gal? For Jason? Or any of the cast. Stop judging before the movie comes out and wait and see.

WW is the most famous and epic superheroine. You can't compare her casting to Lady Sif's. I thought making Kingpin black was terrible btw. He's supposed to be the posh white guy who seems like a really nice guy, but is really ruling the criminal underworld. The Daredevil movie took a lot of that from him.

Some looks are just hard to imitate, and I don't see why all the effort has to go in for a poor imitation. Some actors might be amazing actors but are just wrong for the role.

You wouldn't for example cast Hugh Jackman as Peter Parker would you? Just because he's a great actor. And like I said Gadot doesn't even have the acting chops going for her. Her casting just seems like all they wanted was a pretty face with a sexy accent.

It's all well and good saying wait and see(though it doesn't help they're making us wait another 2 years to see). And I'm not actually whining and complaining about any of the casting apart from Gadot (wasn't really thrilled with Affleck at first either, but have slowly began accepting that).

All I'm arguing is why move away from the Comic Lore unnecessarily. It won't help the film. In fact history shows us the opposite.

I'm not comparing WW to Sif in that regard, but even though Sif is a minor character to WW still doesn't make it right. Not saying Alexander was bad in it, but there are tons of actors who don't really look like the comic counterpart. As long as they look around the same ball park is all I want.

And no, I wouldn't cast Jackman as Peter Parker, but WB's decisions aren't THAT bad as people are making them out to be. So far the casting are:

Ben Affleck as Batman: People are actually warming up to this after the pic. He's a solid actor, who looks like a super hero.

Jeremy Irons as Alfred. Awesome actor, nothing more to say.

Gal Gadot: Iffy, on the fence, but I'll wait until I make a judgement.

Jesse Eisenberg as Luthor. Solid actor that could redefine the role. The actors who played Luthor in the past haven't looked like the man in the comics, so no big deal.

Amy Adams as Lois: Solid actress and she was fine in MOS.

Diane Lane as Martha Kent: Again, really good.

Fishburne as Perry White: Not much to say as he wasn't that much in the movie, but he did a decent job.

Ray Fisher as Cyborg: Dude looks like he'll fit in nicely. And he has acting chops.

They also added Holly Hunter as an unknown character at this time.

Seriously, that is a solid lineup from top to bottom.
