Finally! The Rock is Black Adam and it's a casting that makes perfect sense!
Also, SHAZAM! not being connected to Justice League isn't really a problem for me. He's not part of the Justice League in canon and he originally had his own universe before DC bought him. If he won't be connected to the DCCU, then they need to go the multiverse route.
It's interesting to note how much the DC vs Marvel arguments have devolved humanity's thinking.
Even hardcore football fans, who riot in cities and kill opposing fans during the World Cup are more grown up that people heavily invested in this.

I have a feeling that if the shazam/black adam film is successful then dc/wb will make it part of the of the justice league canon.
Typical wb/dc strategy in not trusting its properties fully 😬
People don't even know the the term strategy even means, I mean come on.

If don't connect it by now, its just plain cowardly. Take a RISK.
Not really. I'm sure many would love to have the Rock apart of their shared universe, because it ads more potential. It's not really a risk. Hercules for example made some good money for a poor marketed movie that was crap to boot. Rock can attract an audience. Adding him only adds more possibilities, IMO.

Exactly, there's nothing for them to lose by connecting it.

He'll be interested when he sees that paycheck.Besides, DC movies are all about transcending the genre. Any good director should be able to find a grounded, important theme to exemplify in any genre. Chris Nolan masterfully did so with Batman.
I'm sure Sony offered him a lot and he still declined. Not all directors can be paid off.

Those comments were pretty clear cut though. That he's not a JL character. And that even though he's DC but he's different.
Also I got thinking... The Rock's Black Adam won't be a plain villain, but an anti-hero. Cap Marvel will be a hero. If they make them part of the DCCU then that will essentially be 3 Supermen we have. They Might feel that would be too much for the cinematic Universe or they may feel it takes away from Superman.
Anyway my bet is they keep it separate for now and wait to see how the movie does before they decide whether to merge the Universes or not. It would be very typical of them to not have a solid plan they stick to, but instead to Wait and See.

Some people think they meant that he's not an original JL character or founding member. Just like they said that he's not a Marvel character. It doesn't necessarily mean he won't be apart of the DCCU.
