It's not pessimism. I'm all for Jesse Eisenburg as Lex. I've even come around to the idea of Affleck as Batman.

But Gadot's just a model. She's not been properly trained as an actor. Her film/tv career is comparable to the likes of Beyonce and Katy Perry.

Plus I hate the idea of WW being so damn skinny!

Supposedly she HAS been to acting school.

I was just assuming she only had a couple of roles like the other poster said.

Gal has two new movies coming out, plus the Fast movies, AND TV roles. So, she has more under her belt. Seeing as some of those Beyonce movies like Austin Powers was just cameos.

Beyonce has a better body, I agree. 😛

So that means there is more in the pipeline for Gadot, not that she's actually done more than Beyoncé. Counting Epic, that's actually 6 movies I can think of off the top of my head that Beyoncé has done atleast.

They might be small roles, but she's going to be in Kicking out Shoshana and Triple Nine, which also has Kate Winslet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Michael B. Jordan.

Gadot is not the best choice, imo, but tbh, most of the alternatives I've heard don't fill me with confidence either.

How about Tanit Phoenix? She lost out on the NBC Wonder Woman pilot to Adrienne Palicki. She's 5'8.5".

Well I hope so. But looking at her profile not sure where she fitted that in.

Great. So basically we're waiting for her to start her career in acting properly.

Her skinny build aside, I just wish they chose a properly established actress. Didn't have to be someone famous, but just someone who is already a proper actress.

Then the skinny part on top just takes the p**s

Wonder woman shouldn't even be in the movie. Maybe if it sucks enough they'll recast wonder woman, bats and lex?

If this sucks it will put DC/WB back a good 5-10 years on the big screen.

They would just concentrate on small screen and animations then I'm guessing.

Would serve 'em right for casting a sinewy stick.

Marvel won't have this problem until they try to do a She-Hulk movie.

Really? Her film career from wookie:

Filmography[edit]

Film[edit]
Year Title Role Notes
2009 Fast & Furious Gisele Harabo
2010 Date Night Natanya
2010 Knight and Day Naomi
2011 Fast Five Gisele Harabo
2013 Fast & Furious 6 Gisele Harabo
2016 Untitled Batman/Superman Film Diana Prince / Wonder Woman

Apart from Fast & Furious there's just 2 other cameo parts there in Date Night and Knight and Day.

Great film career 👆

Her television career:

Television[edit]
Year Title Role Notes
2007 Bubot Miriam "Merry" Elkayam
2009 Entourage Lisa Episode: "Amongst Friends"
2009 The Beautiful Life Olivia Episodes: "The Beautiful Aftermath"
"The Beautiful Lie"
"The Beautiful Triangle"
2011 Asfur Kika 7 episodes
2012 Eretz Nehederet Herself Episode: "Season 9, Episode 7"

I mean wow she's appeared in a whopping 13 episodes in total in everything she's done (plus the series Bubot which doesn't state the number of episodes).

Yeah sorry but she's not a proper actress. I could easily bring up Beyonce's or Katy Perry's profile for a good comparison.

She's already an actress. And your career has to start somewhere. Just like Beyonce is considered a musician/Actress. I know you don't aprove of Gadot, but she's an actress. Technically speaking.

I guess so. But the majority of her career has been based around modelling. Just like most of Beyonce's career is based around music.

She looks all right... But can she act?

Better to have a beefed up nice looking girl who can't act, than to have a skinny model who can't really act either Imho.

Wonder Woman has been drawn skinny before, so I honestly don't mind. I care more about the acting, myself.

Serious question:

What exactly do you think the writers are going to have Wonder Woman [b]doing that will require such great acting skill
in an action-oriented role in a cameo appearance of a summer movie?

Mind you, you know of my preference for natural women;
Gadot looks silicone free and I'd pick her over an augmented choice.

But a big part of the reason Wonder Woman gets little acceptance is that few if any are convinced she can actually DO anything physically.
Spreading the image of a waif-thin pixie as DC's representative Amazon?
That's not going to solidify an image of power and competence in any one's mind.

I'd much prefer a woman with some curve and muscle to her, someone who looks like she has what it takes to back herself up in a fight.

(See Exhibit A at the bottom.)

Again, though, I really have no idea what you think is going to be so demanding that even the average woman can't learn to play Wondy's minor bit part ...

in the year or so this film is going to take to produce. [/B]

I'm not sure how well she can act. She was in a few Death Race movies, had some other minor roles, and was the main character in Femme Fatales. Casting her would still make more sense that cadting Gal Gadot.

only if the film were Rated R, then Tanit would be nude.. lol

It's all a moot point. Unless Gal Gadot gets an unexpected pregnancy (which cost Annette Bening the chance to be Catwoman once upon a time, so the role went to Michelle Pfeiffer) or a serious injury that makes her unavailable (that's how Dougray Scott lost the chance to play Wolverine to Hugh Jackman) or just gets fired because the producers & director see it's not working in the dailies(that's how Michael J. Fox replaced Eric Stoltz in Back To The Future), she's going to be our Wonder Woman onscreen, a little more than two years from now.

They have never recast a role a role due to fan dissatisfaction.
