i don't recall a fuss being made over RDJ being cast as Tony. I remember the vast majority of people thinking it was almost too "on the nose" due to RDJ's past.not the same thing as this. The vast majority hates this Affleck casting.
People were flat out saying he'd be shit.
======
Yes affleck has a somewhat chequered past, but he's a good actor, and snyder obviously sees something in him. If nolan is involved too, then something must be going on that we arent privy to.

Are you kidding?
RDJ was a perfect match for Stark amongst those in the know.
Handsome, Charismatic, Boozer (addict), Witty and a Joker.
Anyone with half a brain knew he was perfect for the role!

Not sure how Bale is a more qualified Batman than Affleck.
Bale has that psycho look. Probably because he is a psycho Lol. But seriously at least Bale has that intimidating factor that worked really well in Batman Begins at least. And I knew that about him as soon as he was announced due to American Psycho.
Plus he has the physique down. He has a lot of things. People complain about the action sequences, but that wasn't his fault. And they complain about his voice, but that got worse as the movies went on, it was fine in BB.

Come on people. He will be just fine as long as the script is right. Not sure how Bale is a more qualified Batman than Affleck.
Bale was the perfect at the time due to his role in American Psycho.
A dark, perfect representation of a man in a modern day western business lifestyle.
He was the perfect Bruce Wayne by all seeing eyes.
An aggressive psychopathic being who exists within the confines of modern human civilization.
He was ......PERFECT for the role.

Whilst who honestly thinks right now that Affleck is perfect for the role?
Anyway, I hope he does prove us all wrong. I used to b**** about Daniel Craig being James Bond when he was announced. But he proved my b****ing wrong.
Batman is three things:
Universal genius and intellectual, prodigious at any scientific or deductive undertaking. Unrivaled in his cognitive and emotional discipline.
With the repressed PST, schizophrenia and anger of a frightened boy, he's able to command a very very feral and predatory presence in the Batman persona.
An excellent strategist and a strong, agile physical specimen.
