So he a throw away villain is what your implying?

You have to be pretty uber to kill Superman. I mean thats his thing right. (even though I doubt they will go that route with this version)
I wouldn't call him a run of the mill villain. But as it stands they will probably give him a good 10 to 15 mins of screen time before he is killed off or imprisoned somehow. Treatment guys like Solomon Grundy should get.
Somehow I dont see him in that tier. Shrug.
DD is probably just a tool to showcase the JL joining up anyhow.

Well that was kinda my point.

The way they were advertising the movie, you got the impression that they were going to clash heads throughout the movie. Taking shots at each other, building tension , to an eventual confrontation coming to blows in the climax.

Now we see that all that hype (by the early trailers) was not to be to what we expected. The BvS fight now takes a back seat (even though that was the big deal in the advertisement) to showcasing the Justice League by the end of the film. Just because they want to crap out a full blown JL movie as soon as possible.

Nothing about the marketing about this movie tells me it's taking a backseat. That it won't be the bulk of the movie. Unless they've been lying to us, anyway.

And, like any story like this, I'd imagine most people would want to see the actual resolution of this, as in, the actual team up that usually follows the heroes fighting.

I can see them treating him like a throwaway villain, or do something that doesn't kill him but takes him out of the picture for a while.

Doomsday deserves better, imo.

Fair enough. Though I still wouldn't call him top tier (assuming you are talking about quality rather than power).

Personally, DD is a fine villain for a comic but I don't think he has what it takes to center a whole movie about him.

Im aware that they would eventually team up and put their differences aside. Im not implying that they fight to the death or after the fight they go their separate ways either.
But the end to their conflict should have been the end of the movie as well. Like now that the fight is done and they are both buds, they will now set their sights on stopping Luther. Luther escapes or goes to jail. End Credits.

Not .."ok , fight is done we are all friends". "Now on to Justice League 0.5 action" ............End Credits.

IDK maybe its just me. Whatever. barker

Agree on that. Although death of Superman could have been cool if done right. But yeah DD isnt the deepest of villains.

What are your thoughts on BvS making the same mistakes as Green Lantern, in right away using a top tier villain like GL did with Parallax?
Using Doomsday so soon, cause why the fuq not, right.

It could very well be a mistake, but we don't know how everything is going to play out, so stop assuming shit. Freaking annoying.

BTW, DD isn't a throwaway villain. He'll also be explored in the Justice League movie. JUST WAIT AND SEE.

You know something that we all don't?

I disagree, but fair enough.

I'd rather the movie end with them having teamed up and succeeded in defeating the villain of the piece, just to get that "we work well together" bit out of the way.

Directors say shit all of the time, though. I hope he's being honest though, I really do. DD deserves better.

Take it with a grain of salt, then. I'm assuming DD will be back in some way in the future of DCEU.

Zack Snyder says Justice League will be about the “mythology” of Doomsday

The end of the most recent trailer for Zack Snyder’s Batman V. Superman features a surprise appearance from an iconic DC Comics villain: Doomsday, the big monster guy covered in spikes who is most famous for that time he killed Superman in the ‘90s. He probably won’t be smashing the Man Of Steel into bloody bits in Batman V. Superman, but it does sound like this won’t be the last time we see his ugly face in one of Snyder’s comic book movies. In an interview with The Daily Beast, Snyder teased that his Justice League movie—the one coming after Batman V. Superman—will dig a little deeper into Doomsday. “He doesn’t just crawl out of the ground,” Snyder says. “He has his own mythology…so that has to be explored.”

That's an Awesome poster. But would have meant a lot more if they didn't already show in that 2nd trailer that Superman can win anytime he wants. And if they hadn't already shown them teaming up at the end without a bruise or scar on either side.

It would've looked like a lovers' tiff if Supes sported a black eye & fat lip.
