^ Dude you do realise all this marketing will make it even more essential for this movie to hit the 1Bill mark right?
Personally though I don't think that will be a problem. I see this movie passing the $1.3 Bill mark WW. Might even reach 1.4-1.5.

I agree to an extent, but I don't agree BVS will make more than JL. Not yet, anyway. JL will be MASSIVE.
Hope you're right but I still don't get why it would be. Are Flash and Aquaman well known among the GA? Is Suicide Squad or Wonder Woman going to feature them?
It's confirmed GL isn't in JL part 1.

I don't think it will pass 1.3 Billion. I see it barely crossing 1B. Justice League will pass 1.3 billion, though.
^ I know. I just see no reason why JL would be so much more successful than BvS.

I agree. 1 billion tops imo. That's being generous.
Being generous? Jeez, you guys have really given up hope on this and just looking toward SS and JL now.
This had Avengers potential IMO. If it barely scratches 1Bill then something has gone wrong somewhere.

You seem to have more faith in the success of JL, whereas I've git more faith in the success of this. We shall see.
I'm just being realistic. A new Batman, a new universe, etc... BVS is something to build on IF done correctly. If WB markets this movie in the last few weeks and attracts the right audience (Primarily females and families), then I COULD see 1.3 Billion.

well yes I have given up hope somewhat... honestly I just do not see this making Avengers or Star Wars: TFA money although it could.. however if the opening tracking numbers are any type of indication then clearly this won't make $ 1 billion plus.. I am hopeful that by the time the film opens then the tracking numbers will be closer to $ 180 million opening weekend. I'm looking forward to SS either except to see Margot Robbie steal the show
Just read this. Pretty awesome if true. Take it with a grain if salt, though.
Well, not exactly "see". I know someone who was (is) heavily involved in the dubbing process of the movie in my country. Unfortunately, signing an NDA is not enough, the copy of the film they receive comes with most of the image covered, a big watermark with the name of the company responsible for the dubbing and they can only actually see the mouths of the actors so they can sync the sound with the lip movements. Which means this person didn't actually "see" the movie, more like a better version of a script reading. So what I was told is that it's great. Keep in mind this person is not a big super-hero fan, but he-or-she said the story is very interesting and surprising. Batman is really, REALLY dark as you already know, with scenes that could've come from a horror film (although his interactions with Alfred are fun and this Alfred is particularly emotional. I'm not sure what it means, but that's what the guy-or-girl said). Superman was what he/she thought was really interesting, though. It was the first time Superman felt like a truly complex character (this person saw Man of Steel and thought it was ok but said he/she can barely remember the film) and his confrontation with Batman is only topped by his interactions with Lois, which I was surprised to hear.
Another cool part of the movie was Lex Luthor, which the person described as "equally funny and scary, but in the end you kinda feel sorry for him" (I'm paraphrasing here, by the way).
Now I finally asked him/her about Wonder Woman, and he/she said she was very interesting and Gal sounded sexy (?) in the role,
Spoiler:
but apparently her big standout scene is the final fight with Doomsday and the person couldn't actually SEE it for the reasons I said before, so that's a bummer. Now to be clear here, this was a relatively fast conversation with someone I know but we're not very close, so I was trying to not look like an annoying nerd, especially considering this person signed an NDA, which I tried to respect. It's not too detailed but it's a reaction and I totally believe it's legit. The person looked really excited about the movie, so that's good news.

It'll roll past $1Bill IMO. Still think the hype for this is higher than something like IM3 which made $1.2Bill without the best box office multiplier.
So I think this will make something in the region of IM3 to AOU numbers. The only thing that might let it down at this point is "over-marketing". Like Mindset said the marketing for this has been going on for so long, people probably don't even realise it's out this month.
Star Wars TFA was on another level. In that exclusive $2Billion club. It's never going to do that well (although I suppose the potential might have been there). Honestly the marketing for this should have been like TFA- just teaser trailers without giving anything significant away.

MOS already started the Universe and like you've pointed out that's sold really well post it's box office release.
They're going to be better off bringing the new Batman straight into this, rather than giving hm a solo movie first IMO, because Batman popularity is at a high with the beloved Nolan series. As long as people respond well to Batfleck all should be good there.
Plus we're getting the long awaited live action introduction of Wonder Woman in this.
So yeah as long as it's a good film, I see this being their big gun.

We'll see. The tracking went up a few days ago, but I could see JL being their big gun as well. Especially with Flash, GL, Aquaman, etc...
Just because the Avengers AOU went down from TA, doesn't mean JL will. Harry Potter for example had some nice boosts.

AoU didn't drop much from Avengers 1. Not much at all, they both still crossed the 1.4 billion dollar mark.
I didn't say it dropped dramatically. TA OW was 207, while AOU was 191. TA domestic was 623 and ended up at 1.5 B. AOU domestic was quite a bit lower with 459.
