According to Deadline it could exceed 400 million. If it scores that on opening weekend it does have a chance to hit 1 billion even with bad legs.

But these are world wide numbers. It opened everywhere in the world at once right?

I mean when other movies have huge openings its for only certain parts of the world. The movies "Legs" come from the film opening in the other parts of the world other than the parts that it initially open at.
Also Word of mouth.

I dont see BvS having those kind of legs. But meh, anything is possible.

Yeah but those are just visions. I still don't buy Bats going straight for the kill like that.

Also the the romance between Lois and Superman just has never got any traction with me in this movie.

Spoiler:
I think under normal circumstances he wouldn't have. But that was the point, that Superman wasn't a normal circumstance, and that the potential threat to the whole of humanity was just too great.

I do. But once Civil War is out, it's all over. So it has 5 weeks to muster all it can.

Even if it does do well, it wouldn't necessarily mean WB would keep things as they are moving forward. I mean, Marvel is on its 13th movie of the universe, and it's their 9th that's widely regarded as their best.

WB has plenty of time to improve, and they can do it without rebooting anything. This isn't Green Lantern or Superman Returns.

You can keep Cavill and have the next Superman movie be more Johns/Morrison style than what Snyder was doing. And people might say "but that wouldn't be consistent with the tone!", and they'd be right, unless you gradually shift it over the course of several movies, which is more than possible.

I'm sure they'll be a lot of course correction going on. Which is the right thing to do. No reboots please, as I'm getting fed up of reboots.

Tones can change story to story. Remember Daredevil is part of the MCU.

I'm starting to think changing Snyder for JL1 might not be a good idea, as it would be a drastic change to the Vision of their story which has already been set up in BvS. But I'd definitely have someone better in the editing room, and a good producer to keep an eye on him.

I think The Jungle Book might clip its legs sooner than CW

^ Ah yes forgot about JB.

Solid numbers. Bad WOM in China though.

Biggest first Friday at the overseas BO

Just saw -- would probably give it a 6/10.

Did anyone see this in 3D? I was rewatching the trailers and the visuals seemed so much clearer, I probably missed quite a few scenes because the background images weren't as prominent. Like the warehouse fight scene is completely ****ed if you saw this in 3D.

I'll probably wait to rewatch this on blu-Ray though, or if a decent quality bootleg appears online.

Why are yo so obsessed with this movie?

So uh...

Spoiler:
Nobody going to comment on Lois' uncanny ability to once again survive every situation she's thrown in during the movie. Seriously how did she DD's energy discharge under a building and then go on to be immune to drowning. I think she's the Anti-McClane.

He works for DC...

Family and I decided to go see it Wednesday night. Figure the theaters will be fairly empty by then.

Just like Superman Returns...you can't really be in a relationship w/Supes without having some creepy moments.

In Returns, Supes uses his x-ray vision to spy on Lois & his kid.

In BvS he

Spoiler:
barges in on Lois whilst she's taking a bath just to announce he's cooking dinner. It kinda begs to wonder if he used his x-ray vision first to make sure she wasn't sitting on the toilet taking a crap?

I hope Lois dies in Justice League because she is so not needed.. Too many plotholes in this as well.. Batfleck was the only good thing about it.. Horrible cgi on Doomsday who really was a waste..

even

Spoiler:
Supes death
is a joke

what if this falls over 60% next week.. will it make $ 1 billion then?

Just saw this, and honestly, I have no idea how it's getting so much hate. It has some structural/editing problems, but nothing that made the movie unwatchable. I thought Ben did great and Cavill once again was decent. Lois didn't annoy me nearly as much as in MOS. And hell, I even liked Eisenberg Luthor. WW got more screen time than I thought she would, and the metahuman file scene was awesome but thankfully not gratuitously long. This movie isn't perfect, but it's far better than say, AOU or IM3. I'd give it a 7.5/10. I was thoroughly entertained from beginning to end.

Yeah but the MCU movies have all been at least somewhat similar in that regard. There needs to be consistency. If DD had been a movie, I doubt it would have been the way it ended up being.

Pretty much my thoughts. I'd peg it down a little to a 7, though. 👆

It's still a possibility. At the least it should do 850 million imo with terrible legs.

No one knows. I mean, it's really embarrassing watching him be the pr guy for WB. Not quite as embarrassing as watching Eisenlex in BVS, but almost.
