Even if it does do well, it wouldn't necessarily mean WB would keep things as they are moving forward. I mean, Marvel is on its 13th movie of the universe, and it's their 9th that's widely regarded as their best.WB has plenty of time to improve, and they can do it without rebooting anything. This isn't Green Lantern or Superman Returns.
You can keep Cavill and have the next Superman movie be more Johns/Morrison style than what Snyder was doing. And people might say "but that wouldn't be consistent with the tone!", and they'd be right, unless you gradually shift it over the course of several movies, which is more than possible.
I'm sure they'll be a lot of course correction going on. Which is the right thing to do. No reboots please, as I'm getting fed up of reboots.
Tones can change story to story. Remember Daredevil is part of the MCU.
I'm starting to think changing Snyder for JL1 might not be a good idea, as it would be a drastic change to the Vision of their story which has already been set up in BvS. But I'd definitely have someone better in the editing room, and a good producer to keep an eye on him.
