DC can push all they want and say what they want. But Cap and Spider-Man are bigger icons and you know it, even before the films.

I would say Superman,Batman,Joker, Wonder Woman and Spider-man are the biggest icons.

Cap is on the next level but is rising fast.

Nah, Spidey's been Marvels poster boy and cash cow long before his movies. If anything Bats got more popular after his movies no different than Iron Man. He didn't have anywhere near as many fans before that, and now he almost rivals Spidey.

Wonder Woman is still not even on the radar.

Supes has always been an icon though, so you're right about that. I'd argue he's THE superhero icon, and the quintessential superhero.
