Like I said, the way Marvel is going now? Yes. Common sense and the current crop of Marvel writers are strangers to each other.

In the last story Atum appeared in, Fraction deliberate ignored past weaker portrayals such as Sacred Invasion and he was the end for every God in creation, like their personal Oblivion.

But he's weak because Thor killed him by beating up on his heart?

Yes. It's not like Atum wasn't attacked from inside before. In fact, he's also absorbed Mjolnir itself on at least two occasions : once when he ate Thor in Thor Annual 10 and later during Thor's Atlantis Attacks Annual. Contrast this to his recent showing where Mjolnir just shot through him and right to Thor.

The only reason Thor survived either encounter was because during the first time, it wasn't the current crop of Gods time to die, the second time he let Thor go voluntarily because he respected Thor's sacrifice on behalf of his friends. Contrast this to how he got utterly humiliated by Thor recently.

Gorr was clearly outclassed by Old King Thor and forceed to amp, Which then he became pretty uber, however in a forum fight i don't he would amp to those levels.

Atum only lost because thor beat him from the inside, something the thousands(or however many you could sort of see) inside Atum couldnt seem to do, Including new gods, old gods, elder gods/demons hell lords, many of which were probably more powerful than thor, for the sake of plot, Thor was bound to win that fight from the get go? Its pretty damn obvious.
