The problem is that the explosion we see from space is grossly out of proportion to the one we see from Kota's vantage point, where he, Organa and the future Rebel leaders are, what, a few dozen feet away from the confrontation and don't even suffer first degree burns. Perhaps the novelization clears things up?

It doesn't, to my knowledge. Either way, though, from the cutscene and the comic, the explosion that Sidious practically swallowed was tremendous.

With Force shields like that, I'mma need to see some seriously impressive shit from Kun's bling.

IDK how Vader tanked it, though.

On the Legacy front, I'll point out Cade's survived giant explosions. And of Krayt's sith, Azard survived a smaller one.

Everyone knows Force Shield in this era.
