Nope.
His most recent battle with Iron Man suggests Magneto can actually USE the magnetic fields of solar objects like the sun to strengthen his shields.

AvX was garbage and that still won't save Magneto from Surfer.

I didn't say the showing isn't valid (that's why I said it won't save him from Surfer), I just said AvX is garbage.

Fight of Iron Man versus Magneto was well thought out and inventive, though.

And, since it also reinforces the idea of Magneto being able to use non-Earth solar objects to power his magnetic fields ...
