I'm not sure you could say Orion wouldn't have anywhere near the success with a sneak attack from behind like Darkseid did, had Orion also ambushed him from behind after Surfer had suffered at Galactus' hands.

Looks like Galactus restored/healed Surfer before Darkseid took him down.
