That would eliminate most of the best deaths ever. Very few people actually stay dead, unless they're ancillary characters. Even Jason Todd, the most disliked Robin ever, didn't stay dead.

Also death of superman had to be the most memorable and iconic death especially at the time when an icon like that just wasn't killed off.
